i became a christain at 17 , and since then i have walked a walk of suffering/pain/and many many losses i am 45 now and nothing has changed no matter how obediant i am to him and his word. how does god pick who he will bless and protect ? how does he pick who walks a walk of constant pain /rejection and loss...? my walk w/him has been sheer determination and i guess you would call faith because i know that the world (tho they look like that they are prospering more than the children of god are) has nothing to offer but the same and more.... so how does god choose? that is my question ....i am ready to give up ! i am tired and lonley and i need to have more than a pin point of light that illuminates my path my eyes are be comming blurry and weary/i want to see the glory of god and i want and need to have a breakthrough in my life ,i am at the point that i need to see gods word in action in my life! pls pls do not answer if all you have is a critical and judgmentalness to offer!

My friend, I sit here feeling the pain in your question and wish I could somehow show the wonders God has shown me in my short 50 years of life. I know that at times you look around and ask yourself " where is God in all this chaos". But be assured that he IS there for you, and anyone who seeks him out. This life is so short and our time here can be challenging. Have faith, know in your heart that he is all around you like a warm blanket on a chilly night. Feel him walk with you and know that when times are rough and no one else seems to care, he does. when it is all said and done, and our time comes, it will be people like you who will join him in his realm.
God bless you and help you on your path through life,
Fenix

The Bible says it rains on the just and the unjust. Meaning, bad things happen to both good and bad people. You just have to keep up the faith and remember that this is not our home and our reward waits in Heaven. Believe me your faith will be rewarded. I know life gets really hard, but don't give up on yourself and don't give up on God. Even though you cannot see it, he is walking beside you, he will never forsake you. Do you go to Church? If so, you may want to discuss this with your pastor. If you don't go to Church, being around other believers may help. I find that when I get down and need a breakthrough it helps to go out and do good things for other people. Sometimes when we focus on others we reap the reward... and we forget about some of our own issues. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU. Don't give up the good fight.

This isn't to sound mean but It's because there is no god. Things happen that's it. When you wait for god or someone else for that matter to help you, you miss helping yourself. Ask questions. Look into what you believe. I did years ago and it has set me free to think clearly, love widely and enjoy what this life has to offer. God's supposed miracles are at the same return for believers and non-believers, basically random chance. You only get one life...sacrificing for an afterlife that will never come seems like a monumental waste.

God doesn't have free will - he knows everything he will ever do and can never change his mind (if you always knew you would change your mind an infinity before you did, did you really change your mind)? God can only ever do one thing - the "perfect" thing. This is the so called mandate of heaven. There is no spontaneity in god's world. He knew everything you were going to do an infinity before he created you. He knew when and where he would intercede. He does not have the choice to deviate from his own destiny. Whatever forces put god in this bind also put you in this bind. You just can't fight predestination. Sorry!

Thesimple answer is that you choose. You chose to accept Christ at the age of 17, are you still choosing him? God has never promised his followers happiness during this life.

From what you have said, it seems like you are trying to walk the walk under your own strength instead of God's strength. Remember that his grace is sufficient to get us through each day, but we must slay our selfishness and worldliness so that he can lead us. Any trace of self in the heart occupies too much space for Christ to come in.

Also consider what Jesus said to those who asked him what they must do to have eternal life; He directed them to the ten commandments. Both Jesus and Paul stated that by loving God and each other we are fulfilling (keeping, obeying) the law. Examine your heart to see if there is anything in your life that should not be there.

May God be with you as you seek to strengthen your relationship with him.

God doesn't choose anything, we choose our own paths - in life and afterwards. If your god isn't "doing it for you," then perhaps you should consider researching other entities and seeing if there is another path you can connect better with.

Like my father-in-law says, "Your mind's so heavenly bound that your body's of no earthly good."

Besides, it's never too late in life to learn something new. Cut your own path, it's much more rewarding than just following the same old worn out one that everyone before you has.

So, tell me, where in the Bible does it say we'll have a smooth easy path to tread as Christians. Doesn't it say:

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt 7:13-14 KJV

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33 KJV

And doesn't Jesus describe your decision for him as a yoke?:

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:29-30

If you are walking in faithfulness to our Lord, I envy you your rewards in heaven. God knows I would buckle under, but He knows you are strong enough to bear it. God bless you.

My fellow Christian. I, like you have suffered much. Do not despair and do not give up on God. Consider Job. I always think of Job when thoughts like this trouble me and I have a number of friends at church who I can call on any time day or night. Hold your head up and keep the faith. God is with you, believe me.

You know , when a friend of yours is very sick, like in he's having only few months to live, you treat him nice no matter what he does and try to give him anything.I believe God does the same: he treats preferential
the unfaithful people, because they have only this life to live, since you have an eternity .Remember, it doesn't matter if you believe in God, you have to make God to believe in you. And it doesn't matter if God loves you or not.All that's matter is that YOU love HIM.!
Cheer up and don't give up :)

all of these answers are from nutjobs. God doesn't choose, YOU choose. ignore the gorilla and his predestination nonsense. God punishes noone and it is NEVER his will for ANYONE to suffer. all you have to do is reprogram your mind. Read the Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. Abandon Christianity and its lies and acknowledge the God within you. Life is eternal, God is love, and it is done unto you as you believe. This is the God that Jesus spoke of. Christian theology is nonsense.
