Anyone with a brain knows these simple facts: That if you are Christian, you have to commit a sin to help spread AIDS, commit a crime, not take responsibility for creating children, or murdering them. Why would a MORAL ATHEIST call people who believe this stupid? Do they simply misunderstand Christianity, or are they actually immoral people?

For all of you who accused me of generalizing or saying something about ALL Atheists, you need a lesson in semantics. I said "AN Atheist" that is "moral" and "A moral Atheist" not ALL atheists. But thanks for assuming I meant what you thought and not what I said.

For those of you arguing that morals are in the eye of the beholder, you need to go to church and read a bible. I can tell you this much, the woman who wrote this is ABSOLUTELY void of morals:

"I would rather see a fetus be aborted than a child be tortured, murdered or condemned to to a life of poverty, abuse, non committed parents and resentment."

And if you abort a fetus for that reason, I am absolutely CERTAIN that you need to BEG God for forgiveness.

So the people who got blood transufsions prior to 1990 committed a sin in order to have gotten AIDS?

Children who were infected in utero committed a sin?

Nope, son, you ARE stupid.
Calling you that isn't immoral. It's a statement of fact.

No offense. But I think it's very ignorant and immoral for most Christians here to think and imply that the only way to get AIDS is trough sex. (ever heard of blood donations, absorbing trough skin or eyes, scratches, spit etc.)
And as I say to everyone who employs that about abortion: Why don't you say that when you're put in the same situation, then you'll see what a difficult decision it is and than you can judge people who do it (sending a child to an orphanage is the same as abortion, wetter you like to admit it or not).
And finally, abortion has nothing to do with atheism, it's strictly individual. (A lot of religious people chose abortion as the only way at that moment and there are atheists who do not chose abortion because they want children or fell it is murder).

Additional details that came after yours:
Of all the Christians, Catolics are the only ones who think abortion is a sin, or at least Ortodox don't.
What tragic female wrote is true. Take your head out of the bible and actually look at the outside world in it's true form, not true Christian idealism, because every religion has its own and they're all different. If you didn't have the fear of Hell would you still think that? And if the only reason you don't commit sin (or rather that what you've been told by others is sin) is because you think god wouldn't forgive you, than you're a sorry accuse for a living being. Stop thinking what god will aprove because there's no certant way of knowing that. Do you think god aproved of the crusades or witch burnings? Because that's what people then tought. Do what you think in your heart is right, because only then you can be a trully good person and not just a child afraid of a spanking.

I am not an immoral person. I feel that AIDS is a horrible virus that kills many innocent people, I have never commit ed a crime and have three beautiful intelligent children and I would rather see a fetus be aborted than a child be tortured, murdered or condemned to to a life of poverty, abuse, non committed parents and resentment. I don't misunderstand Christianity. I know exactly what the followers believe and what they choose to ignore. Loving each other is moral. I love all fellow humans regardless of disease, sexuality, skin color or their lifestyle. Christians honestly can not say that.

Actually, this one is pretty easy... Majority of Christians claim the BIble is 100%... they lay out the morals which they follow (and only those that they follow) and claim that God gave those to us. If you read in Exodus, the 10 Commandments, one of them says Thou Shalt Not Kill... then God tells Moses to kill every living thing except the virgins in the next nation. Now, if Atheists said they believed that Murder is wrong, yet went next door and killed everyone in the house because one person there didn't believe like he did (that's why God sent Moses)... would you think he was a moral person?

Do you see how people see the Bible and many believers who follow it as hypocritical? Especially when they state only those laws in the Old Test they Want to follow... all the others, well, that's for everyone else....

And I have seen Christians call people stupid... does this mean they are not moral???

You generalize. Not all atheists call christians stupid and not christians call atheists stupid. You look at the extreme ends of the spectrum and not the middle.

I do not misunderstand chrisitianity - I was a christian at one time in my life which is why I do not believe in christianity. There is a big difference between the two. Moral people can be found in any belief system; as do immoral people. I look at individuals I don't generalize about groups.

Well, most people are not so weak and feeble that they need a religion to tell them what is moral and immoral. We are born with a pretty innate sense of what's wrong and what's right. While Christianity capitalizes on this innate sense, it has also been responsible for some of the most horrible atrocities in history (the Inquisition, witch trials, supporting the Holocaust, etc).

Let's not label somebody moral or immoral based on belief in a higher power.

Atheists, like all people of a particular persusion, are a spectrum from easy to rabid. Thus, I cannot typify an atheist even under the single condition you describe. (And I am a Christian.)

BUT, an atheist who attacks others for their faith is very rude and insensitive. If an atheist says he/she has a moral code just as good as that of a Christian, then the atheist, by his/her own action, admits their inferiority by making that attack. Thus, those who attack Christianity or any facet of it, its belivers or the entities in which they believe or the actions they take or do not take is--by definition--not moral if immortality is the imprefection of moralty as expressed.

I hope you can follow that. It is difficult enough for me.

No, they can call we Christians stupid, but we cannot say anything to them without sounding judgemental, and they will throw it right back in our face. The day of reckoning will be here soon enough, and we will see what happens then. Thank God, I won't have to watch while all the atheists and non-believers descend into hell, which is where they are certainly going. God bless.
