From the TV series, Bewitched:
Samantha, Endora, Tabitha, Clara, Serena, Esmerelda, Hagatha, etc.

From Sebrina the Teenage Witch:
Sebrina, Hilda, Zelda, etc.

In fact, I've found that there are a large number of popular witches with names that end in 'a'. From a list in the on-line encyclopedia, Wikipedia, I found nearly half the names of those witches end with 'a'.

This doesn't look like random chance. Does anyone know the reason behind it?

Charles Darwin doesn't count, we all already know that that is an urban myth.

I posted a question that was proposed a clear compromise for those Christians who oppose gay marriage with the argument of people wanting to marry their snake, inanimate objects, or polygamy coming next.

If you ask a question in this forum about gay marriage, you'll get 5-10 responses from some Christians declaring that polygamy, marrying pets and inanimate objects, and pedophilia will be certain to follow if gay marriage is legalised. However, when you post a clear compromise and alternative that would keep that from happening, none of those individuals seem to have an opinion or an answer for you.

Why do you think that is? And do you find it as hilarious as I do?

I was an atheist for the first half my life, and never felt the need to convince religious believers that there is no such thing as God. I'm interested in why you personally want to change the minds of theists.

And did you only start getting ready for it after you read the lameass Left Behind series. Books that were written by someone with the intellect of a 10 yr old.

Probably!
I don't like that tv-series, it's boring, it's lame, it doesn't teach me anything about life. So, i'm probably too stupid to understand it, right?

( I'm asking this because this same analogy seems to be valid for the Bible. When i say the book didn't teach me anything useful about this life, i always have to hear that i'm probably too stupid to understand the book ).

If you can, then the afterlife will suck, and the world will end. Don't let that stop you.

At work today (work for small company out of a house) the boss told 2 co-workers to go outside and kill a groundhog in the backyard. The two couldn't wait cause they love killing since they like to hunt. Long story short...they used a pellet gun and shot at it numerous times (about 10 minutes), then finally heard the poor thing screaming / squealing. Still not dead, but now suffering. One of the guys even had an axe ready to hack it up if it came out from where it was hiding. At that time I got up and said "This Is Disgusting" and left for the day (only 1/2 hour early, but still..). Am I over-reacting, or would you have found this disturbing as well? I'm the type who would've trapped the groundhog, then released it down by the river or something.

since prophecy does not specifically cite the united states as being a major player in the end times, one can assume with good reason that our nation could become secondary player in the final day's leading up to the tribulation.it might be possible a devastating event might remove the u.s. from the world stage. for example, with the total national debt of $7.4trillion and a trade deficit of roughly$500 billion for 2004 the american ecomony could explode from it's own excess. do you think this is true?
