Or replace him with Hanibal Lecter or Magneto?

I thought God played both the hero and the villain.

He creates a diabolical plan in which mankind condemns itself to a lifetime of torment followed by another eternity of torment. Then he plays the hero role in the sequel by killing a self that is not himself but is himself in order to become one with himself again in order to save mankind from himself.

You are such a demented character! In other times you would have being hanged upside down for this heresy! Anyway, great question, I grant you that. Here's the part you don't understand-religions do not care about who wins what since there's no god nor satan. Religions just offer bogus solutions to existing problems or create a problem then offer the solution! It works like this-you're sick? god could heal you. He didn't heal you? Oh well, there's another plan, better than your health, like your everlasting life and god's working on it...all you have to do is believe and by the way give us some money. Now you know.

Nope. The bible was written to magnify the mission of Jesus not the evilness of Satan. Besides, it wouldn't make for a good read if you did try to expand the plot...we already know what happens to the villain in this book. It would be boring.

Are you sure Satan was the villain in that book? Yahweh killed millions, demands sacrifices, takes human form (if a god is able to be part human at the same time he's being all encompassing), made man so bad the first time he needed a do-over, and basically runs around trying to secure land for a few choosen people, who then ignore him when he takes human form. I'm not sure what is worse, not being able to convince the choosen people you made that you are really god, or how bad his math is.

Maybe, but his role will expand when the rapture hits and the Antichrist tries to seduce you to his thinking. And come on: Magneto? Everyone knows X-Men 3 sucked.

Yeah, a good fist fight between Satan and God or Jesus would really make it interesting. There would actually need to be a lot of fights to make the bible worth reading. It's so boring.

Satan was mentioned a few times in the bible. I can recall two times, when he tempted Eve to eat the apple. And when he tempted Jesus, on top of the mountain.

the bible wouldn't benefit anything by expanding on any part of it. Its the perfect word of God.. Someday i hope all those with questions at least give God a chance before making judgmental statements.. He loves us all so much He (GOD) send his only son to die for all of us, I didn't deserve that, but He loves us all so much beyond any of our comprehension.

NO! The bible was written to emphasize God and His divine plan, not to glorify the devil. The focus of the bible is to give us an "instruction manual" on how to live life.
