Is it ok to be bigoted if the bible says it's ok? When should you trust your god given concious if ever then?

Do you like giving your advice to others? If you do can you explain to me why? I'm just curious. The reason why I do is because it makes me feel good to be able to share my thoughts with others! What is your reason?

We've all been taught since day one that the bible is Word of God and is all truth. I have tried to find who and when this statement was made and have not been able to find a definitive reference. Is this statement just passed from generation to generation without a true beginning source? Help me find this source. Thanks

Man, this sucks! I'm getting out the military. They put extra time on me, then I was cool with the job I was doing when they switched me. Then they found out I was enjoying it too much so then they moved me again to a different type of job against my will. I fought to get the old job I liked and they moved me again to this job where I work 14 hours a day verse 8 hours a day. Man, this sucks! I read my Bible and pray at least 3 times a day over here in Iraq. I keep getting tested spiritually and I keep fighting spiritually. However, it's repetitive and I don't understand why? I'm trying to make it home and I'm not trying to have no nervous breakdown! I'm just trying to make it easier while I'm over here and I guess they know I'm getting out and they're trying to make it worst? Maybe? Of course you know I'm in the Army.

The way I look at it is: if I was an orphan waiting to be adopted and had only to choices: The Osbornes (stright) vs. Ellen Degeneres (Gay). whom would I pick as the adopter?

Being raised by nurturing responsible gay parents has got to be be better than junky, loud, dysfunctional striaght parents.

I was out this weekend w/ friends to W.Va. My friend found this cool hot spring spa location. So, we all went there and enjoyed the spa. However, as we were exploring this lil' town, we received weird looks and 2 cars yelled at us. One car yelled "me love you long time" I didn't even understand what that meant but nevertheless they were making fun of us bec we're Azn. I'm not a racist but incidence like this makes me upset. Prolly, Azn never set foot in that lil' town, still it kinda ruined my trip.

there are very very few "pure" races in the U.S. there are few "African Americans" but most black people seem to identify sooooo much with being black where many white people accept that they are just Americans with mixed ethnicities

Do you LOVE the bum that smells like he's soaked in piss, liquor, and dirt for a week, panhandling for change? What about that overly-pierced couple with the leather and dangling chains, slobbering all over each other and rubbing against each other nearly tipping over the newspaper stand on the street? What about the teenage boy with the black eyeliner who is always in a dark kind of mood? What about the sleezy looking married guy you see walking into the "Adult Bookstore" to buy porn, sex toys, to cruise the booths, or whatever? What about the man who gets married, then divorced and says "I've been gay all along and I've been cheating on my wife with another man"? What about the people on the internet who look up snuff movies?

Do you TRULY , TRULY LOVE them? Do you HATE (TRULY HATE) the sin and not the sinner?

What's YOUR take on these people? What about your neighbors, or the same people sitting next to you at church - who pray and exhalt your god, then go out and do whatever?

Should the reparations be given to fund start-up cash for small businesses, better funding for education or free college tuition for any African American senior that wishes to go to college. It is only fair since education was denied for so long and when they did finally get it, it was and still is inadequate because of funding.

Okay-knowing that I may be crucified for this question; here goes:

This confuses me: I hear a number of gay folks express their discontent with the way that they are treated in this society. Words like equality and rights often come up. But I also see a number of gay folks participate in activities that make them look just plain silly; an example is being in drag (obnoxious drag) at a gay pride parade.

Why would a group that so badly desires equality put themselves "out there" in such an obnoxious and unflattering way. I don't know of any other group, who desires equality, that does this.

I did thnk about shriners and their over the top silliness at parades but then quickly realized they don't cry for equality nor have the parades just for them.

And just for the record, I am not homophobic. No, I can't say "some of my best friends are gay." I'm just an old guy trying to figure the world out. And if I have offended you, I apologize.
