Is it bigoted to be against criminals? In the eyes of many Christians, homosexuality is a sin and a crime. Just because you are ok with it, doesn't mean that everyone has to be.
BTW, how do you feel about living next door to a pedophile with your young children? If you're like most people, you wouldn't want said pedophile within a 10 mile radius of your house. Isn't that bigotry too?
And before everyone gets in an uproar, no, I am not saying that gays are pedophiles.

Believing that homosexuality is wrong it not bigotry. Your question assumes, wrongly, that all lifestyles and values are equally correct. They are not. If you are a christian and believe that homosexuality is wrong on a moral basis then it is not wrong to reject a homosexual. What is wrong is to be rude and uncaring or yell things in a megaphone at a funeral of Aids mourners. This does not glorify Christ at all.
Your question confuses two issues, 1 is it okay to be gay?-No
2. Is it okay to be cruel to people you reject because they are gay?--No.
Christians are human, just like any other people, and if they have not felt what a gay person feels, homosexuality is horrifying to them. But it is also within a Christian's right not to associate with gays. Everyone chooses their friends. So do you.

There is no difference between the way SOME Christians treats gays and bigotry. They pick and choose what they believe from the Bible. Do you see any of them out there yelling about how eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10)? No, of course not.
BTW, Jesus never said one word about homosexuality. I think that says something.

Homosexuality is the same, sin-wise, as alcoholism, envy, greed, lust or any other sin.
The difference is that few people are as proud of the other sins like the homosexuals are proud of theirs. You rarely see an alcoholic parade, or a greed parade, with people flaunting themselves as perpetually greedy.
As Christians, we cannot allow ourselves to be a part of that lifestyle, nor can we simply ignore what we see as sin when it is pushed into our faces and forced upon our children.
Bigotry, however, is not the same. I believe another poster put the definition up for you.

I get so flamin tired of you people lumping all christians together; like christians are republician; christiains are gay bashers, christians are for the death penalty, etc.. Do you think we are all just one large person or are we allowed have individual personalities? For me, I am not republican, I have no problem with gays, but I am for the death penalty. Have a real problem with serial killers walking around free, but that has nothing to do with being a christian, it has more to do with being a mother. I have never bashed gays or voted republican. I have never told another person they're going to hell, except joking with my friends or family. I highly resent you guys lumping everyone together as if we aren't individuals.

It is bigotry, but unfortunately they don't see it that way. They see it as a sin and a crime based on a book that's been added to, subtracted from and translated so many times that no one knows what to follow.

There's no difference at all. When segragation ended, they just changed all the signs from 'black' to 'gay' and recycled them.
