I was out this weekend w/ friends to W.Va. My friend found this cool hot spring spa location. So, we all went there and enjoyed the spa. However, as we were exploring this lil' town, we received weird looks and 2 cars yelled at us. One car yelled "me love you long time" I didn't even understand what that meant but nevertheless they were making fun of us bec we're Azn. I'm not a racist but incidence like this makes me upset. Prolly, Azn never set foot in that lil' town, still it kinda ruined my trip.

well i'm azn too and when i went to the east coast trip w/ my class, there was people staring us down. it was really rude and uncomfortable too and one of my friends kept getting all paranoid (she gets like this all the time) but i just ignored them and continued on what i was doing. i'm happy that most people were friendly though.
i'm glad i live in an area w/ lots of asians though were we can express our pride and practice our culture more than other places. it's really weird because some of my white friends say the feel left out by the azns which in most places would be the other way around. i just tell them that everyone is lucky to be the race that they are and that you should be happy about it. i love different cultures and stuff. most of my white friends can tell the difference between most asian countries! well, i'm getting a little off topic but yeah. ^_^
oh, and impossible_dream, some people don't have time to learn English before coming over to the U.S. so it's not really there fault. and learning the language isn't first priority, taking care of their family is.

When I first moved to Hagerstown ,MD I went to the public Library and I had asked for help. A white guy helped me in terms of how to look up the book. I had not gotten used to the library so after struglling I went back for more help as soon as I said excuse me "he said I better behave myself he knows my kind and will call the police to deal with me". Then a another black saw what was happening and told me just to move on and the stupid librarian is like do you know each other? I was thinking no you fool because two black people talk on the street say what's does not mean jak. I have felt funny ever since I live out of america until I was seven and never experinced racism. i am thinking of leaving after I get my degree.

I dont dislike people solely on race, but I do think foreigners need to learn how to communicate properly before MOVING to the USA. I wouldnt dare move to another country before learning their language and how to behave in their country. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" I dont like that Spanish people assume I know how to speak Spanish and dont take the time to learn how to ask me their simple question in English and save a lot of trouble. They get mad at me if I dont understand them, would I get mad in Mexico if the Mexican didn't understand my English? No, thats my fault for not learning Spanish. Also, Oriental people learn the language first but not proper American manners. I manage a grocery store, and even though it looks nothing like their Asian street markets, they think they're run the same way. I had a Chinese lady run up to me in the middle of the store (she must have known I worked there from the uniform) and wave a dollar bill in my face yelling "2 hotdog please 2 hotdog please!!!" She should have learned how to shop in a grocery store before coming here, she did take the time to learn English, and she should also learn 1 dollar wont buy you 2 hotdogs.

I was at a transit station in a predominately black neighborhood. I passed by a group of teen aged black guys. When I passed by one of them said "I smell some pussie". I was seven months pregnant. For a brief moment I was thinking damn niggir. I was raised not to think like that, and it hurt because they were able to make me be a person I despised.

When people go around and are like "AZN PRIDE!" and stuff.
Oh, and when people come up to me and ask me if I know Jet Li.
And, I make straight A's... so people blame my 'Asian-ness.'
Funny thing is, I don't fit in with most Asian people.

a lot of my friends are racist. i try to talk sense into them but they don't listen. they say things like "I think it's perfectly okay to hate someone because of their race." or when someone at one of their jobs made a mistake she was like "It was probably some mexican."
