I'm totally confused. It sounds like such a double standard. Jesus dies for everyones sins but not gay people.

It is still a sin...but since Jesus came and died for us, and you accept Him into your life, then you will be forgiven and saved.

To God no sin is greater than another. In the Bible it says that you shouldn't lie down with another man. Just because Jesus died for us and is our saviour, doesn't mean that we should go out and do whatever it is we like, but if we mess up or make a mistake then we need to ask for forgiveness and trust that we are forgiven. But forgiveness only comes when you accept the saviour.

I think that what Christians are trying to get across is that according to the Bible homosexuality is considered sexual sin. As followers of Christ we should do our best to stay away from all sin, including sexual sin.

To be a Christian means you try your very best to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

God Loves YOU

I really don't get the whole 'jesus died for your sins' thing. What does that even mean? He was executed by the state and religious authorites for preaching heretical ideals. Ok, so how does that translate into - now everyone who lives after him is able to go to heaven? If he hadn't been killed and Pontius Pilate took mercy on him, then what? Everyone goes to hell?
There's just no making sense of mythology.
By the way, to answer the question - there's no such thing as sin. People just use that word to stop other people from doing things the first group doesn't like. Nonsense.

If homosexuality stopped being a sin because Jesus died for everyone, then logically we'd have to say that all other sins -- including murder, theft, and adultery -- also stopped being sins for the same reason.

Jesus died for everyone's sin -- including those committed by gay people -- but this hardly means that sin was completely removed from the world.

Sin is generally defined as a turning-away from God, as a declaration (through our acts) that we don't want Him in our lives. This is something we're all (obviously) capable of doing, even after Jesus' redemptive work on the Cross.

Jesus' death and Resurrection does not give us the green-light to engage in any sin we want -- whether it's homosexuality or any of the other sins.

Jesus died for our sins, but we must make every effort to avoid sin and to live in His grace until it's time to leave this world and meet Him face to face.

Otherwise, as St. Paul tells us in Romans 11:22, we too shall be "pruned away" -- cut off from the salvation Christ won for us, due to our turning-away from God through sin.

Christ Jesus paid the price for all the sins of the world. Past, present and future. For any individual, homosexual or not, to claim their Salvation, which is a free Gift of God by His Grace and Mercy. The individual must go to God in The Way He proscribes.

Sin is still very much in the world. It was not abolished by the Payment of Christs Blood. But your dept to God for your sin was Paid for By that Precious Blood. Now it is up to you to make you statement to God and claim waht is your. Waiting for you to came for it in The Way That God has provided.

For a man to lay with a man is an abomination in the sight of God. But the sin of homosexuality is a sin as any other. It can be forgiven.

Being a homosexual is a sin. Jesus did die for our sins but it is up to us to repent and ask God for forgiveness but that means that we have to stop doing those bad thing. If it was ok for people to be gay, then God would have made it so that man and woman could give birth. We have to have a equal relation.

People didn't stop sinning when Jesus was risen... The differences is that since He died for us we now have the means to turn from that sin and have the means to live the way we are supposed to live... Repentance is still key...

well, you just said that He died for EVERYONE'S sins, so that means HE died for homosexuals too. Yes, homosexuality is a sin, because God didn't plan that in the beginning. He didn't want that to happen, but BECAUSE of the sin Adam and Eve, the world changed drastically and became more and more wicked. But even so, God still loves them.

Of course it is a sin, Jesus died for the sinner, not for the sin. You cannot continue sinning after asking for forgivenes, I cannot say that you don't sin anymore, cause we all do in a everyday life. But there are sins that God say not to pray for, that is the sin that is practiced knowing that is sin. Check this website and it tells you about homesexuality: www.allaboutgod.com/is-homosexuality-a-sin.htm

That is your own interpretation regarding the double standard. Jesus did die for everyone...period. But what many fail to acknowledge is that He also commanded each of us to follow Him and stop our wicked ways. How many of us continue on in sin, expecting to be forgiven while ignoring the commandments of Jesus? Doesn't work that way. We are to take up our cross and follow Him, daily....not go on our merry way engaging in sin.
We are to repent of our sins, seek forgiveness and turn our lives around and follow Him.

You are right. You are totally confused.

Homosexual behavior is a sin. So is adultery and fornication in heterosexual couples.

Jesus died to save us FROM our sins, not to save us IN our sins. What Jesus did does not wipe out sin, but it makes it possible for us to have forgiveness from our sins. Sin is still sin, and needs to be repented of. God never made it okay to sin. He merely provided a method whereby you could feel sorrow for your sins, make restitution, commit to never committing the sin again, and hope that God would take upon him your sins so you wouldn't have to suffer the endless punishment for sin.

If gay people repent of their homosexual behavior God will forgive them, just as he will forgive other adulterers and fornicators. But they have to feel remorse and "go and sin no more."
