An apology and a house is good enough for me!
Jews got and are still getting reparations for WWII and in comparison to slavery that war did not last 400 years.

Do you own a slave...neither do I! The reparations started with Johnsons "Great Society", and ended up with a life cycle of govt handouts in the form of welfare, foodstamps, etc. When you PAY people to do nothing, that's just what the'll do.
And Martin Luther King...a visionary which changed the world, yet all of his hard work has virtually been squandered and forgotten by the very people he helped. If Connie and Colin and numerous other can rise to the top, so can ANYBODY in this country, because your ATTITUDE is what make you, not your color.

sorry no reparations should be paid.
you pay reparations to the person who was wronged, not their heirs 4 or 5 generations later. People have the same opportunities now, minorities have even more opportunities than the majority, so no to the reparations.
Reparations should be paid to the Japanese-Americans who were herded up and held during World War II, but not African-Americans who have not been enslaved for more than one hundred and forty years.

All this is good, but for the wrong reasons.
From whose pocket will "reparations" come for the misdeeds of past generations? Taxes? Are not ALL Americans taxed?
And were the American Indians treated better? Can we give them reparations? Break your heart and visit a reservation.
Should we give the British reparations for taking the colonies from them?
Can I go on? Ask me.

I have to disagree. Have you been to college? People of color have a LOT easier time getting scholarship money because they are a minority and don't have to work nearly so damn hard to maintain a high GPA to get it and keep it. I went to college with one girl whose dad was a school principal but of Mexican heritage. Her college was free because she was half Hispanic. Meanwhile, I had a wife and two kids and we lived on about $8,000 a year. I couldn't get any financial aid because I had a bachelor's degree and I was white and didn't qualify for assistance based on race. Doesn't matter now, though. I have more today than that girl does because I learned how to work, scrimp, save, and invest. We're not helping minorities by giving them biscuits, it's like feeding the bears at the wildlife park.l

None, let me say that again NONE!!!!! We are a society of one. My family has been in this country only since the 1890's. My relatives have never owned or condone slavery. It is now time for everyone to get over it. There is much more racism in the afro American culture than in whites. We need to move on as a society, and put that behind us. And no I am not a racist.

No reparations.
No-one alive today is an ex-slave. Anyone in school today has spent 0 minutes in a segregated school system. Most of the white people today have received 0 benefit from slavery. Bad stuff happened to other people in the past at the hands of other people. Get over it.

Reparations would have been a good idea, say during the time period 1863 - 1893 (Emancipation Proclamation through the first generation of blacks born free in the USA).

I would love to see our youths get to go to college rather then go to jail. And I do believe that we should pay your college tuition.
I wish you and hope you can go to college, you are asking not for a handout but a way (and college Is hard work)to better yourself,I admire you
