asking where it is when it is right in front of them. My husband last night was looking for a steak knife in the drawer, it was right in front of him; as he was digging for it, he slit the end of his finger off! It is the same with the refrigerator, if it is not right where he can see it we don't have it. Just curious.

Does extremism of belief in politics, religion, racial views, etc create strife and divides people from others?

If people:

-questioned their core beliefs (the ones that were ingrained in them from birth, ie Religious, Atheist, Democrat, Republican, Pro-Earth, Vegan, etc),
-tried to look at all of the sides of an issue before taking a stance,
-let their stances be a little fluid (not flaky, but fluid) rather than rigid and immoviable,
-accepted the stances of others as possibly valid rather than blindly condemning them
-and tried to learn from people who have different opinions,

Would we be stronger as a community, stronger thinkers, and less able to be manipulated politically or otherwise by personal biases and unfounded fear?

Why protect a child at all? the end reason (after all pretense is peeled away) is ALWAYS that the child will inconvenience the mother.
Well say the child becomes an inconvenience after a year or two. why not kill the child then?
A large 'reason' that pro abortionist use is that the unborn child is not fully formed. Neither is a one year old. in fact no one is! We all go through formative changes as long as we live. It is a scientific fact, therefore why not kill a 5 yr old? The answer, ultimately comes down to location (location, location, location).
Preemies live as small as 4 months after conception so viability is not an arguement either.
Why can't people ("pro-choice' advocates) see that when each and ever arguement they use is extemded, is self destructs?

The broader question, assuming there is a heaven, is if animals have souls? Assuming they do indeed have souls, do they all go to heaven, or do some go to hell or purgatory? Of course there is the old possibility of reincarnation. Choose your pick. This should be in the least interesting.

He believes that God is a dog, and also that God isn't real. Some one please pray for him. I hope he will change and get saved before its too late.

We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, becuase they joined others in worship with Allah, for which he had sent no authority; their abode will be Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers).

First let us disect the meaning in this verse.Basically, they are calling Christians in this verse non believers , as they say the Christians are polytheists, because they believe Jesus was divine.

Hence the "joined others in worship with no authority". It goes on to say that the Christians will live in hell ( fire, capitalized to Fire ) and how evil the Christians are, as well as the people who are wrongdoers.

The Koran then categorizes Christians with rapists, murders, etc. ( wrongdoers)

This verse is a clear threat to Christians, that they will terrorize them if they dont believe in Islam.

Can anyone explain it any differently?

Thanks !

If not, wants the problem with menstruation or masturbation? And do they have a problem with most sperm never getting to the egg even if we only ever had procreational sex?

Of course, the notion that the True God would chose to work through a bureaucracy of sexually repressed perverts make the idea of logic and fact irrelevent.

If so, then why will Islam be the largest religion in the world? Note, no body is being forced by the sword; confusion w/ Christianity.

I'm an UNhyphenated American, dam*it! I'm so sick of people segregating Americans with hyphens. African-American, Asian-American, Italian-American, Irish-Chinese-Yugolslavian American...we're all Americans! How are we going to fight alienation and unify ourselves into a melting pot when we keep segregating ourselves into these mental ghettos? Yes it's great to love one's ancestry but our identity should still be American. I personally prefer the words "black" and "*****". They're the perfect words because they aren't racist but they aren't overwhelmingly PC either. African-American sound like the kind of word that's used by anal insecure blacks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and hypersensitve patronizing whites. ***** isn't a racist word. Just because a word is old doesn't make it racist. If you think it's a racist word, you're getting it mixed up with another N word. Our ancestors used it all the time. Frederick Douglass used it. MLK used it. Do you think they were racists?

According to some people (Buddhists, Hindus, etc.), if you become free of desires you achieve everlasting happiness. It's a "catch 22" though, because wanting freedom from desires is a desire in itself. Can anyone help me out?
