Those weren't "real" Christians. The "real" Christians spoke up and put a stop to it.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing."

Your point is????? We all live in mortal flesh. All Sin... much sin has been commited in the names of many orginizations which otherwise do much good work... I can cite the mormons... many good people there...but muich evil is done by the cult... Budists are not immune to doing bad stuff either... Hindus also commit most vile atrocities....

Any of the Christian Faith who would commit such deeds as you cite will be anserable to God... but must be also held accountable to mans law here on earth... lock the perverts up ... that is the least they deserve in this mortal life...

Those references you linked to are valid evils... They should be punished....but they are absolutly against all, ALL, of the Teachings of The Head of The Church, Jesus The Christ.

I accept email questions from all honest seekers concerning The Christian Faith

Of course, the fact that the vast majority of sexual abuse of minors is NOT committed by clergy (Catholic or otherwise) would be detrimental to the anti-religious point you're trying to make. No?

The fact that most of the abuse by clergy happened at least 25 years ago would further take away from your anti-religious crusade. Right?

And the fact that in the year 2005, a whopping 21 allegations of sex abuse have been made against the USA's 42,000 Catholic priests wouldn't serve the anti-Christian bias you're pushing either. Am I not correct?

Men..and women are fallible...we all have a sinful nature. Christians should not be lumped together under the heading these men have created. All Catholics are not bad (I am Baptist), just as all one one race, gender, belief or any other group can not be labeled as bad because some claiming to be of that group are bad. Please don't judge ALL people in any group by the few that claim to belong to the group...Just because I say I am something does not make it so.

I'm not a Christian, but this is ignorant, there are over 2 Billion Christians around the world, and I don't think that 'perversion' exceeds 0.001% or even less! TWO BILLION! I f you're an atheist, then are there no pervert atheists? Or whatever your religion is!

I think its interesting that this site includes retired individuals or people who had left the church already for various reasons and were FORMER clergy. If they had already left the church, they no longer represent the church. And I don't recall and Christians saying they or the clergy are perfect...

emwads: Catholicism is Christianity. In fact, Catholicism is the first Christian Church. Catholicism, Lutheran, Baptist, etc are all denominations of the Christian faith. Catholicism is not the only Christian faith in which this stuff occurs. Recently in my state a Baptist preacher was accused of child molestation.

perversion is not just among christians, the bad in all groups and all people are guilty.....notice i said the bad....not all groups or all people are bad and commit perversion or crimes, its always those that do that get the attention. don't generalize a group or people its unfair and just plain wrong.

it is sad and it just shows that people of faith sin too. But don't go by their actions to not seek out God. President clinton lied to the nation about the sexual scandal. Do we not trusts all presidents cause of his actions? Hmm everybody is different right?
