Every once in a while, every couple of months (though they have gotten shorter and farther apart), I kind of fall off the face of the earth. I hang out by myself, keep away from my friends, and it gets to the point where I maybe wont even respond to emails or messages. My longest was two and a half-weeks; my shortest has been three days. I don’t know why I do it; I just kind of lose energy and don’t want to deal with things. I haven’t really noticed how my friends must worry about me. I don’t realize it until it’s over because I’m just running through the motions. I feel one of those phases coming on. I want to see how I can prevent it because when I do come back to earth I have a lot of damage control to do. My friends feel like I have turn my back on them, but it’s just my problem.

What does this sound like? Does anyone else do this? I want to fix it for the sake of my friends and my family, especially because when I move out I don’t want them thinking I'm in trouble.

I'm 22 with two little girls of my own. My mom is 45 and has 3 kids, me-22, my brother-18, and another borther-13. She had a miscarriage when she was 32 years old. 13 years ago she and my dad both made sure they would have no more kids, but my mom just told em today that she thinks she might be pregnant again. I am supportive, of course, but I think she's just missing her grand-babies (my daughters) alot since we moved out of state and so she just wishes she were pregnant.
But what if she is pregnant? Having a brother or sister 22 years younger then me? My daughters having an aunt or uncle younger then them?... I just don't know how to deal with this. I don't know how to feel... My mom is my best friend but I have to remember she is still my mother and grandmother to my kids. I don't want to feel this way but I just feel alittle weird about the whole thing. Not to mention, scared of the risks that come with her prgenancy. My dad just got off a medicne and he's not supposed to father..

It has been a month and half now, since I have given' up drinking and alcohole for good. Mind you I still smoke cigarettes, but thats next on the list.

Does alcohole have long lasting affects, long-term depression that can still stick around after someone quits?

Why do I still feel stressed and depressed?...somewhat more depressed now, than then?

ok,
I had a huge crush on this good looking coworker,
he hid the fact that he had a gf ,
after months of being friends with him,
i decided to AVOID him,
at the same time I made a false dating ID online and when he wanted to go out with me I told him how about ur gf?
that was it,
then he knew I had been stalking him online,
then he avoided me too,
after that he tried to speak to me in front of our friends,
but I avoided him,
until halloween,I dressed up in disguise to his houseparty,
but he recognised me and smiled,
I AVOIDED HIM AGAIN!,
please help me with this obsession,I cant let him go,I cant go up to him and tell him I like him because I know he's still with his gf.
help me.

I am scared of the future, and how the world is going to be technology wise, not so much global warming and stuff, but how generations of people die and those type of things, how would you get over that fear?

P.S. - I am even scared to look at calendars; I wish it were always just 2007 all the time.

I'm 26 but very shy and soft-spoken. I'm trying so hard to open up around people. I talk a little more than I used to and am trying to add to conversations, but I still find myself holding back a little and I'm still VERY soft-spoken and blush a lot when I start talking. I'm always worried about how I appear to others. And I'm constantly concerned about how my words and actions may affect someone else - for instance, I worry about bothering or annoying them if I say something. In turn, my opening up process becomes INCREDIBLY slow and gradual and I'm still a very quiet person.

If you were someone who witnessed my slow process, would you get sick of me because of that?

My mother died in March, a week later I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant with my first child.. a baby girl. Lately since her funeral I've been having dreams about her and the house she grew up in. Sometimes she's not there and the house is empty just how it is now. A couple weeks ago, I dreamt I followed a man to that house and I don't believe I knew him, well anyways, he told me to come inside. I was very reluctantant and had told him I didn't want to. He said I belong there and where else could I go. This dream really disturbed me, I live 4 hrs away starting a new family, but I keep dreaming about that house. My older siblings tell me that the house is haunted, and many people have died there including both of my parents who suffered fatal heart attacks. I have a strong desire to visit that house to stop the dreams but I'm also scared too. I shared this with my sister and she strongly discouraged me.

I met a psychologist once and she said this to me:

"Hello, I'm Dr. Christina Clarke, and I help people when they have a problem of some sort, anybody can have a problem, lots of people, you'd be quite surprise actually! Some people can be depressed, some angry, and some both! So anyway is that alright with you! I see your a very private person from your record and I'd like to just tell you that this isn't medical. It's not like a cut on the leg, and the solutions a bandage. We help people by sorting out their messed up thoughts, so we work with them from what you already have, understand?!"

(Nods head extremely confused)

"Any questions?"

"Yeah, why did you just say the same thing and treat it as something different. This may not be medical I understand that, but basically your saying that your trying to help me which is the same as any physical injury. So your starting to scare me a little,"

(Rubs nose, starts to pick lint from chair and pauses)

"Well, I didn't mean that we were

I am not saying that intelligent people always have keen senses of humor...as I have known MANY very intelligent people with absolutely NO sense of humor. But often it seems if a person has a quick wit or very good sense of humor they are intelligent too. Maybe I'm being too general here. What do you think?

I really look forward to marriage when I am older. I am only 20 at the moment. However I am so paranoid about becoming pregnant. I feel this way because I think that my husband probably would not be attracted to me with the excess weight, and afterwards I would not have my figure. I guess I am a bit immature, but I just would want him to dislike me because I am getting larger. This is going to be a huge problem for me in the future and I am trying to overcome it, but it's difficult to find a man who doesn't want kids. Are my fears irrational?

Well, today I had a writing test, and the planning sheet was a bright yellow. I was just thinking, is there a reason they make it that color? Is there some scientific theory that says yellow helps you come up with things, green helps you concentrate, red helps you... ect? If this is true, what colors do what?
