I am 20 years old, and I have been using drugs and alcohol since I was 15. Both my parents are alcoholics and I have a little brother who is seeing my father and I use on a regular basis. I want intervention, and I've tried going about getting help by myself, but I really need my family to be there with me. I know they know there is a problem here, but they just won't communicate with me about it. AND I'VE TRIED TO TELL THEM I NEED THEM. I don't want to look like a sorry blubbering fool. I am going to college and looking for a job. I want my little brother to see us take responsibility. I need advice on how I can approach my family with this, without looking like I'm starving for attention.

This is a hypothetical question (hopefully) but the good news is, we each will have our wishes granted... except for wanting more time or a way out. Please think seriously about this before anwering...after all it might be true for any of us that we do only have 24 hours left to live.

I noticed that most times before going to see a friend or my botfriend, i always have what i'll do and say in my head. then i get there and most times, i end up blabbing or asking same question or keeping quiet and expecting my bf to ask or do the talking. is something wrong with me? i won't exactly call myself a quiet or shy person cos i don't think i am. what can i do to improve myself?

I enjoy yahoo answers, cause I like to help, share knowledge and assistance....

But it is full of immature, rude people. What bothers me is some people come here to get legitimate help.....and are looking for real answers.

You try to give them, be honest, even back it with scientific studies....and your answers get crapped on, humiliated, and scoffed at by the rest of the answerers and voters, cause you were honest! I guess sometimes I feel that instead of being honest, this site continues to perpetuate a lot of the stereotypes, falsehoods, etc breeded by society. a lot people here simply fortify falsehoods....mostly based off societal views, opinions, and a lack of their own understanding. How is that at all helpful to people looking for answers.

Your in a neverending white room-on one side of a glass wall in the room are all the people you have ever known in your life
you are about to disappear, never see any of them again-they will never see you.....

you can choose ONE of these people to say ONE word to....baring in mind ther the last person to ever see you-

is it someone whos made a significant impact on your life? someone you love? Someone you hate...? would the word you say change their life or give away an important secret?

WHO IS IT AND WHAT WOULD THE WORD BE?????

Why do I keep attracting the same partner but in a different package?

I've had two traumatic relationships in my life both of which I gave up and left. Now I've attracted a third one and I don't know what to do. Just thinking about it is putting so much stress on me but if I leave again then what are the chances I'd attract a fourth one? I know there's a lesson I need to learn here and this new person the same with me. But why are my love relationships always like this??? And believe me it's hard to "not" be in a relationship with this type of soul.

or is it one? This guy I used to date has made it a POINT to come back around and "invent" this "happy" life to BRAG about. which i believed at first and found out it was lies. he lied about being married. he is living with a obese woman but sent a picture of a model, bragging how this is his wife. there were several other lies too. why would the man do this?

And when you turned around, was someone actually there? I know lots of people have this feeling (I felt it today), but I'm wondering how accurate this feeling actually is.

In my case, I felt it in the grocery store, and I even heard footsteps! But then I turned around and no one was there. I finally figured out it was someone in the next aisle, clicking her high heels just so . . . kind of mind-boggling until I figured it out, though.

Does anyone know of a good course/book/audiobook that can help me overcome this fear.
I had to give training to a group of 50 people, and got so terrified that i almost couldn't do it. I started talking real fast blanked out every now and then, and felt very insecure, and uncomfortable.

Fear is really a bad thing to have ... How do not let it control your life ... I can see that fear has stopped me from making decisions and choices that would have been good for me..
