i think you portray an unfair overview on your question .
a lot of people like the idea of getting an opinion completly diverse from the general run of the mill --- and where there would be disclaimers ( as to advice ) is fair enough .; i also think it is good to discuss something with someone from another part of the world .
example --- i share corresspondece with a woman in america --- i live in australia .
we shared a difference of opinion --- and came to a common agreement --- we are the best of friends ( although we have never met ; and probably not lkely to ) but we are ' pen friends ' and will remain that way for as long as we care to .
so in other words , your comment dispels the theory that you don't know anyone you answer .
p.s. what was your question ?? and why are you asking it !!??
good luck .

What makes people spend their time ASKING questions of people they don't know and never will?
It's fun. It's informative. It's entertaining. We share ideas.
We connect and feel valued and feel like maybe we are not alone. It's a brotherhood and a sisterhood, for those of us that care about others.

Boredom to some extent....but for me....It is therapy.
I enjoy helping people out...sharing my wisdom, lending support, and knowledge.
Everyone on this earth has problems, insecurities and hard times. The more the world realizes this, and the more people that can be sympathetic, helpful, and sincere, the better this world will be.
This is similar to why do we help/assist anyone in need. Good Samaritans are good Samaritans...just cause we don't know them, doesn't mean we shouldn't help.

I don't think you need to know someone in order to want to help them. In some ways the advice from a stranger might be more honest because he/she is not afraid of hurting your feelings - they're willing to be blunt and say what they really think. There are people, of course, that just want to be rude, but you can pick them out from the people who are truly trying to help.

it gives you a good feeling to be able to give your advice, to try and help people and make them feel better.
Everyone has their own experiences which they can share on here.... and by doing that and helping someone out even tho they dont know them gives them a good sense of well being.

Now, that's an interesting question in deed ! I suppose every human being is willing to help with a piece of advise when asked, it will not harm anyone and it may help to solve some-body's problems out !

Two reasons. First and foremost I'm bored at work and have nothing to do. Secondly I like to help people.

the same reason for why people put up questions that are not really necessary, and will be answered by people they don't know and never will
