I enjoy yahoo answers, cause I like to help, share knowledge and assistance....
But it is full of immature, rude people. What bothers me is some people come here to get legitimate help.....and are looking for real answers.
You try to give them, be honest, even back it with scientific studies....and your answers get crapped on, humiliated, and scoffed at by the rest of the answerers and voters, cause you were honest! I guess sometimes I feel that instead of being honest, this site continues to perpetuate a lot of the stereotypes, falsehoods, etc breeded by society. a lot people here simply fortify falsehoods....mostly based off societal views, opinions, and a lack of their own understanding.How is that at all helpful to people looking for answers.

Funny that you posted this as it is a sad fact. I have found (especially the older I get) that the majority of the population enjoy living in ignorance. That old saying "Ignorance is bliss". Most people don't like the truth so they choose to continue to live in perpetual obliviousness. Which, I might add, is the reason Bush still has supporters. Instead of seeing the facts as they are they continue to take his word for it. All it takes is a little bit of research, a little bit of reading to know the truth..... instead ignorance is bliss. I don't know how old your are, but I am 31 and I have to say this sad truth only becomes more apparent with age.

I am relatively new to Yahoo answers and at first I got caught up in the negativity of some of the people on here. I think it would be really interesting to meet these people and see if they are just as obnoxious. I think that it is more likely that they are hiding behind the anonymity of a site like this. I just ignore the answers of these people and I am building a network of intelligent people who's questions and answers I like to follow. Yeah for Halifax loved being there and can't wait to come back

Here's the thing. This is the internet. Some people are serious and some are not. I enjoy your questions and answers while some people answers get ignored. I think it is so easy to only take what you can use and throw the rest away. It is not we are in each others face where you have to listen to what is being said!!!!

Honestly, it does sometimes suck, but it shouldn't effect you. They usually come off looking as stupid as their answers are.
Let them do that to themselves, and if the person is looking for a real answer they will notice the good responses and pick them.
If you think about it....if they don't pick the most intelligent response, then wasn't it a waste of time to respond.

As long as the person asking gets to read your honest and helpful answer it doesnt matter what others say or do. Just keep on doing what you do.
