I am a woman in her late thirties who is under a lot of stress lately. My mind seems to be working over time. I just can't seem to focus my thoughts on one particular subject,or shut down at the end of the day. My mind races at night and it takes me up to 2 hours to fall asleep.
Other symptoms include:
Losing a train of thought, and forgeting a word or terminolgy that I should know and not being able to complete a sentence when speaking to others.
Forgetting what I was going to do, say, or where I was going.
Unable to focus on one thing.
I bought a word find puzzle book, and a coloring book with crayons in hopes that I would be able to focus my attention on one thing at a time.
I currently have four or five books that I've started reading and can't seem to finish, and I lack the energy to get anything done.
Any suggestions as to how to stop or slow down my over active mind would be greatly appreciated.
Forget the smart aleck remarks. Serious responses only, please.

this is serious. my husband had a problem w/ multiple personalites a few years ago. it was so bad that i was abused. i stayed with him so he wouldn't hurt himself. he dosen't remember any of it!!!! after about 2 and 1/2 years his problem went away. it's been gone since. now he's forgetting important things. he almost got killed yesterday when he crossed the street on a red. he says it's like he's standing outside and watching himself. we live in austin tx and can't afford for him to be seen. he forgets conversations and things he's done. we have kids and are together for them. it's been killing our marriage. what can i do? please no rude comments. i'm trying to get him help.

Okay, so I have very low self-esteem because I am overweight, and other things - but this one kid in my class is very sarcastic and makes fun of me - by blowing kisses at me and telling me he loves me - and if someone comes and sits by me, he's like "why are you sitting by my girlfriend?" just to be funny. I dont get why people do this - I have not done a thing to this kid - what do I do to get him to stop? On top of that, everyone just goes along with him and laughs and crap. I dont get why they just dont leave me alone.

As much as I admire the second life game, I've decided not to go on with it because its too easy for me to let it consume all my time. Altho I can see the tremendous potential of it, and admire its ingenuity, I think I'm better off without it.

My boyfriend has bipolar disorder and adult ADHD. He lives in cycles, and when he is up he gets hypersexual. I think this is great and encourage it! However, he always gets so ill afterwards, very depressed, finds it difficult to turn off, and sometimes gets into trouble, I don't know what kind of trouble. . Can anyone explain hypersexuality to me properly, and tell me if in encouraging my boyfriend to be sexual with me I am in fact making him dangerous, or dangerously ill? Thankyou.

I found it hard (silly as it is) to get over the fact that being the 'method' actor that he is, he may be a little 'strange' in reality. He did nothing to disprove the fact by his ludicrous weight loss for 'The Machinist', don't get me wrong, he's a great actor, maybe too good ? ! and I'd jump into bed with him at a second's notice...
I digress. Are his fans women? gay men? psychopaths ? or various combinations ? I'm a straight woman BTW.

I notice that some people are more inclined to seek truth in their own subjective perceptions and hopes. They think what they believe is true because they can feel it or intuit it. Other people are more inclined to seek truth in objective analysis through tests and logic. They think what they believe is true because they can prove it (more or less) or logically defend it. Which inclination do you think you have? Which inclination is more desirable or beneficial to have? Which leads to greater happiness or satisfaction with life?

For example, if you have had a number of lovers, do you see a couple who were virgins when they got married, then live together for the rest of their lives as extremely naive and ignorant of the world?

Or, vice-versa, do you see people who have a string of lovers as unloyal, not dedicated, easy, etc.?
