I'm going to say a sedative, as when overused or misused one can die, or have a life threatening experience.

On the other hand, the same can happen with cocaine, certainly opiates, and from what I've heard about side-effects lithium would be the winner.

I'm not familiar with the first two, but I am with lithium. At first I would say lithium, because although it's used mainly for bipolar,it could cause euphoria in someone else. The analgesic effects, I'm not sure about with lithium, however, it does help feel more reality more pleasant. And absolutely has life threatening side effects.
Sedatives fit all those categories, but then I think all the others do also, just but what I've read about them.
So the answer is all of them....i think.

It would have to be Opiates for all to use it & get the different effect desired, without doping them or stimulating them too much & it has the capacity to have bad side effects & threaten ones life or kill eventually or quickly!
