How nice to know that there are still people around that can see past the rude, insulting argumentative person, and see the good in someone. Good for you, enjoy your friendship.

Go with your gut - if you generally don't like people like that, chances are that he, too, will leave you disappointed in the end.

True, there could be a nice person inside there, but if he wanted you to see that nice fella, don't you think he would have shown it to you in the first place?

You're not off your trolley though; I know where you're coming from, I've been there before - more than once. And every time I learned that my first impression is the best one. If you don't like someone, you never will, no matter how hard you try. And if someone doesn't like you, it works the same way. Certain people really are meant to just avoid each other because it just doesn't work out at all - their personalities just don't match.

Now if that person was closely related to you, you can't - obviously - avoid them.

I don't think I would chat to this guy if he's rude and argues. But if there is a nice person inside, why not?

Sounds like he's more trouble than he's worth. Personally I'd just keep it pushing. I used to try and find the "good" in jerks. But they're not going to change. Try spending your time around more positive, uplifting people..possibly some in the "people world." :)

It's not unusual to have mixed feelings about a person. The person you describe sounds an awful lot like House, to be honest (but maybe that's just me and my addiction to the show).

i once started chatting to a guy over the net, and he really was so defensive and offensive at the same time. but in my case i was heavily attracted to him.

we started phoning each other, used to talk for hours, then suddenly get into a massive argument and end up shouting.

i met him and it went great. was real passionate, but we argued a few days later, told me never to contact him again. but he phoned me recently to check that i had deleted his number...

he also admitted that he hated me because i was smarter, and that he'd only try to bring me down if we stayed in contact.

in answer to your question, yes you are crazy, as crazy as me.

Sounds like this guy is pushing you're buttons and you're fed up of normal guys " with the how wonderful you are" routine.
Go with the flow and give him some abuse back .
( could be fun )

just keep it to chatting on the net....
you never know what could happen face to face...

but enjoy your chats, nothing bad can happen if you just stay chatting on line...

take care and enjoy your talks...

Just say something like, if you keep talking to me your gonna have to ask me out. And see what he says. ( only if he is single.) Good Luck.
