Remind yourself that the true test of love is to embrace the other's imperfections. Give your nearest and dearest something to embrace!

There are two different types who think of themselves as perfectionist. One, the guy who insists on everything he buys or has done for him must be absolutely perfect.
The other is the person who is perfect in his own work.
Which one describes you ? The only way to overcome either one is to convince yourself that things less than perfect can be useful and functional.
Most things produced today are far from perfect. Ask yourself would you rather have a product that does the job very well, even though it's less than perfect, or would you prefer one that is not more useful, but perfect for two or three times the price.

You seem to have lost your way.
I take it that a perfectionist is one who strives for the best grades in school, and the fastest times on the field.

This pursuit of perfection is driven by an intense need to be successful and the desire to dominate your opponents. You see everything in life as a battle to be won at any cost. This attitude is most often accompanied by a world class ego.

In order to overcome this hurdle, you need to understand this, "Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans".

First, do a lot of stretching. Too often when jumping over hurdles, the legs just aren't as limber as they need to be, especially when the hurdles get seemingly progressively higher when one is running down that track.
Secondly, tie wet rags just below the knees so that when you are running, the rags wipe the dust off the tops of your shoes. Thirdly, adhere thick cotton rags to fit snugly under your arm pits so that unsightly sweat doesn't begin to stain your shirt. Fourthly, wrap cotton gauze around your chin and forehead to prevent sweat from dripping down your face. Nothing says "loser" more than a dripping wet sogging, red face. Fifthly, make sure you're on the right track and that you're running in the right direction.
Sixthly, ask your self these two questions while doing the preceding: What am I doing? and, What am I maintaining by doing it?

Being or trying to be perfectionist is a sign of low self esteem. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself and learn to relax. Just remember, your cannot be in 100% control of all things at all times. Relax and take enjoyment out of what you are doing, not only the end result. Most important, learn to forgive yourself for your own mistakes. Recognise that you yourself are your biggest critic and biggest enemy.

try to look at life from a different point of view. the other people around you arent perfectionists..and you are probably missing out on things that other poeple enjoy because you are constantly trying to keep things perfect. life is never going to be perfect..take small steps ..leave your crap on the stairs when youre tired..dont correct every error you make..people understand that you are human..just dont get too lazy.. perfectionists and lazy people are not fun to be around..

You probably can't help yourself. But please stay away from normal people. Perfectionists drive other people crazy.
