Keep going to those meetings--more than once a day, if necessary. Cross the street to duck the liquor stores and bars. Stay away from your drinking buddies for now--you can reconnect with them after you have a handle on your problem.
***Chocolate seems to stop the alcohol craving in a lot of people***
Personally, I would prefer to see a shrink than attend the meetings. But I usually do better one on one than in a group--especially such a selfish group (they admit it themselves) as AA or NA. Additionally, shrinks sometimes will help you with meds to stop the urge--whereas AA permits no meds, nothing to help the pain.

I know your pain. Here in Ohio, we AAers call it our "stinking thinking." I can be having the best day going, and all of a sudden, I think, "After school, I am going to go get some beer," or "I have had a good day; I deserve a beer." Something along those lines. However, I have to play the whole tape through. I know that it is not likely that I will stop after a few. Or that I will stop the next day. I have to think of the consequences of that drink. Also, talking to another alcoholic always helps. And, if possible, go to a meeting. It may just keep you away from those darn thoughts. Good luck. I myself am working on these "one day at a time" as I have relapsed again and again. But, I do know that sober life is better than a drunk life.

Frodo didn't get to Mount Doom in a day. Keep plugging away, and if it helps you, try to play a lot of video games, and keep your mind occupied.

Yeah, it's tough buddy. I'm not yet where you are my friend. I'm still drinkin'. But don't look back. I'll try and follow your lead, but for God's sake, take it from me...don't look back. The door's opened. Go for it.
