It has been explained to me that people with depression and anxiety (like me) have some type of chemical (serotonin) imbalance in thier brain. And just like people with diabetes need insulin, people with depression and anxiety need SSRIs.

Does this mean it is impossible to help depression and anxiety without medication?
What do you think of therapists who think SSRIs are the only form of treatment?

I believe that life isn't really anything interesting. It has it's up and downs, I can say that, but I don't see any point in staying here longer than I really want to.

I don't want to grow old. Living in a "home" doesn't appeal to me. Nor do adult undergarments.

When I've had enough of life, I intend to just leave it at that and find out what happens next in the cycle.

Is this a self-destructive way of looking at life, or is it a very good outlook?

How many people feel lonely most of the time? How many people suffer from chronic loneliness?

Is there research giving percentages? What are the important factors?

I also feel lonely very often. I have social anxiety and find it difficuilt to meet people (actually just to go outside). I would love having more socials contacts, yet there are probably many people around just like me.

My friend says that she often has dreams that come true. She's kinda freaked out because she's had one that ended badly and she's afraid it will actually happen. Normally I wouldn't believe something like this, but she told be about a dream she had about the day I told my boyfriend I loved him. I hadn't told anyone exactly what happened or where, just that he said I love you back. She was able to tell me EXACTLY how it happened. Should we be worried that this new dream will happen?

Please describe any experiences you've had w/ this.

Over the past year and a half or so, I have become very un-confident about myself. I realized just now that my family is poor. I feel very ugly all the time and have become obsessed over my weight. I have been going on pro-ana websites alot too, and I have started to think very dark thoughts about myself. I have also had some serious thoughts of suicide a couple weeks ago, but now it feels so stupid. and that makes me hate myself even more. I don't want to complain, I want to know what i should do.
And i have also become a very judging person. i catch myself when I do it and tell myself that its horrible and that they're probably a way better person than me, but it keeps happening.

I am Greek so it is a cultural thing...20 min. late there is no big deal so I grew up with it. But now I am late to classes, have been repeatedly late to work...I don't give myself enough time to get ready and there's always that extra thing I need to do before getting out the door. If this continues it could lead to disastrous results- losing my job, getting into a severe car accident from speeding, etc. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thank you!

Time, work and many factors change relationships. As kids we were often told to respect elders and greeting relatives or doing small chats was a way of life.

Now being an adult working with many people, one realizes that not everything that one was used to doing was the right way. Elderly people may not be looked up to if they had not used their time wisely or led a life that one did not hold on as good. (Could be better) Example the Auntie who always smiled but now you know only did that because she had your parents etc as clients.
Small chats become agonizing when time becomes very precious because there are bills to pay and one does not want to become caught in a rainy day and desolate due to a lack of saving!

Some people might not have caught on knowing these, or maybe pretending to not know. They may not like the changes they see although they know it is necessay for young adults.
It becomes awkward when to say the truth is painful to the other party but to not say is

seems like all the women are too desperate for love which mkaes it easier for guys to take advantage.....and even when they know they're bf has done 'small' cheating (like lap dances stripb clubs) and they know they should dump them they don't......and they also know that most guys couldn't help themselves in front of a hot girl and they all wanna really be players anyway

& you never see a man saying o i'm so lonely, i want a gf, am i ever gonna find that one, i want someone to love me,...

& u probably don't belive me ladies ('oooo noo my baby luvs me he'd never cheat on me we looove eachother') but even a GUY asked here on yahoo if the human race would continue if girls weren't so gullible.......think about that now!

My brother said he would come play paintball with me & my cousin and I really wanted to play it with my brother but he said he didn't want to. So later I called my cousin and then my brother wanted to play. Later we were about to leave to head to the paintball store and i grabbed my wallet out of my room. My brother was playing games in there and I said lets go.
He said I don't want to go now. We had all made plans and my cousin had even gone out and wasted 2 hours getting him Co2. He did that to be nice so we could have a fun day. My mom was going to make him go but then he pulled a big *** lie, It was surreal. Somthing dawned on me. Later we were in my room, and I told him to hook up the game in his room so I could be alone. I asked him why did you lie? He said "I told the truth", it didn'y matter anyway because my mom was downstairs. And then he whispered to me "Hahahaha" like Cartman from South Park. He did that to show he did lie! I thought WTF.****NO MORE SPACE****
