Okay I have this acting class every Saturday and right before I get there I get SO nervous and I dread it. And then after the class is over I am super happy and I never want it to end. And then when the next week comes I dread it all over again even though I know how much fun I'll have. Can you help me? Thank you!

Get used to it. Happens all the time. Many subjects, from Buck fever, to target fixation in fighters. The people who can pull off being calm and cool under fire are just wonderful to watch. Find a few, and watch them. Role models is what you need.

See, I know this is so different from topic, but I used to be that way about church when this new guy (now my boyfriend) started to come. My stomach would turn somersaults and cartwheels and I'd be sick right b4 I got these and then, after I was there for awhile, I wasn't nervous anymore and didn't want to leave. I think it's all in perception, you're afraid on how well you'll do and then, when you get there and boost your self confidence, it makes you feel better. I don't really think there's a cure for it, just take deep breaths on your way there and try to talk yourself into how much fun you'll have. If you're not driving, you could try hanging your head out of the window and getting some fresh air.
Good luck!

I just took the SATs today, and I know it's cheesy to apply it to an acting class but think about it: Visualize yourself succeeding. I'm assuming you dread, go, have fun, come home. So imagine how much fun you're going to have and how confident you'll be, and then maybe you won't remember that you're nervous anymore.

You must have my personality type. All I can really tell you is there are professional actors/actresses that actually have stage fright and it goes away only after they hit the stage. There may be way to lessen this. Maybe, yoga would help. Try chamomile tea with honey, too. I'd just keep going if I were you and maybe with time things will improve. The more contact with the public the better in your (mine too) case. Good luck!

You don't need help! Just keep doing what you're doing and hope your fear continues. It may just be the key to becoming truly good at acting. After all, isn't acting all about being in touch with you human emotions?
