I've noticed that mean people are ugly. They have ugly faces and even dress ugly. I even noticed that mean people give themselves angry looking avatars. People that have angry looking avatars also give themselves dark and dreary backgrounds. Has anybody else noticed this too? When I see an angry face avatar I usually don't respond to them, do you avoid angry/ugly people too? Their so negative, isn't a positive attitude better than a negative one?

6 months ago, got some idea in his head that i had cheated on him at work, and now that seems to be all that's on his mind. he now seems to explode extremely easily and thinks i deserve to be treated badly because i "cheated". i really didn't cheat on him, and i love him, but this is crazy! one day he's calling me telling me that he loves me, the next he's screaming at me telling me what a bad person i am. this is all in his head! he has lied to me in the past, and now it seems like he feels i have to have my faults as well. he's just out of control with his anger, he's become very paranoid, and his self esteem has lowered extremely. i think he might have a kind of paranoia or bipolor disorder. i'm not sure...and how do i convince him of this, and to go to the doctor?

I am always child that keeps my cool, but lately I've been getting very depressed, I have a lack of sleep and appetite and my grades at school are slipping. My parents fight continuously and I am always stuck in the middle. They say they wont get divorced because my brother is too young to deal with it.

I know someone that used to cut themselves. She stopped without therapy. I was wondering what causes you to do this, and how do you just up and stop one day.

Sometimes my dreams resemble reality quite a bit, but often my dreams are very, very strange. Things change shape, places appear and disappear. They're kind of like "fun houses" or entire cities with strange lights on the floor, architecture that would be impossible, many people falling through the floor, various tunnels, very bouncy grass and strange textures. A few nights ago, there were these long strips of colored grass and I would slide on them, and they lit up, giving me some kind of score. If I touched the edge I thought I would be electrocuted, but when I touched it, nothing happened. And the whole time I was trying to make it to some kind of destination, but really the whole dream was about wandering around this strange place.

No, I don't do acid or drugs. I'm not looking for interpetations, but just curious: Do other people have such dreams, or are they generally just an unlikely twist on a plausible reality? Is the world in your dreams completely unrecognizable?

While doing research for a paper, I've noticed that some people have both counselor and therapist out to the side of their name. What is the difference in these two? What is the difference in education/degree requirements or can someone practice using either title with one degree?

I took my daughter to a theripist. She has seen her dad abuse me, and he hs touched her one time when she was 8 years old. She is now 13 and just came out with this because she has recently went thru puberty. I tried to leave for so many years but he kept me isolated, scared he would kill me and my family. I am in therepy myself. I am glad (dcps) is involved because they can stop visitation. Her theripist said it is harmful for her to be in her dads presence, with everything that is going on. The supervision is not being supervised properly. Her dad is going to go crazy, and he is going to rebell. I just hope he doesn't go thru with his threats. By all means the last 15 months has cost me loss of sleep, he has damaged property, broken into my place, and has tried to allienate everyone around me. I know I was the victom also, I wish I was as strong as I am now. I just hope I don't get accused of not protecting my children by the (dcps) protective services. What do I do?

I am a support worker, caring for elderly people with Alzheimers. Today, a male resident asked me (in a very roundabout way, I think) if I could procure the services of a prostitute for him for 2 hours. I think he has the right to such a thing, but what would YOU say? I haven't asked the home manager yet what to do. Is there a legal line drawn on what residents with EMI can ask for? If it cannot be done, what should I do? Take him to a place where he can get whatever he wants? This IS a sensitive, genuine question, so please no facetious stupid answers. (PS: The resident is a widower in his early 80s).

Why would a person pretend to be stupid? How do you deal with a person who pretends not to understand, or not to know something, when you know they do?

There further, farther, most quickly is not part of my interest for much . . never has been, except from default!
Here then is another question : Has this website, (which I rather like and enjoy, though often I am exasperated with).
Who OUT THERE believes IT becomes a kind of addiction . . not vice-like, for the very most, mind you!
I'll accept any answers, but especially recognized will be those who answer as Hard Core addicts
Please, do not misconstrue me, okay?

What I mean by Hard Core, I mean, people who come to it most voraciously, insatiably for their own reasons!!!

As for me, I believe IN THE SENSE, I have just described, I may be in need of re-hab, soon.

Please people, notice my sense of satire, humor, not malicious instead, for Mankind's Sake?

There seems to be a lot of sales companies and church groups out there that only want to hear you say positive things. They will fire you or kick you out of the group if you talk about things that are not positive. This seems fake and a cover up for the crimes these groups want to commit. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Who'd be so crazy as to go to prison for life for blowing their tops and actually killing somebody?
Only the "CRAZY!"Who would have the wretchedness of mind , the ruthlessness, the sheer brutal instinct to wait in anonymity in order to scathe a gentle soul who would wonder in unabashed sincerity - whether a "goldfish changes color" and "which side an avocado seed is placed into soil, so that into a plant it may grow?
Only a MONSTER in disguise, a complete and total sociopath AND Psychopath?
Who else would diminish themselves with a scathing mockery of such a harmless question.
And one more question . . "Sticks and Stones may Break my Bones . . . " Remember that defensive, but untrue, full of denial little ditty we all know, (I hope, we all know . . don't mean to be presumptuous!
Is a virtual scathing less painful, harmful to the psyche, than an ACTUAL Scathing?
Come now, no one is yet fully, a resident in protective
custody of Cyber-space or Virtual reality!

Deep down in my heart, I know that other people's opinions should not matter because it's my life, not theirs. And my husband also always tells me to take others' comments in through one ear and out the other, but for some reason, I find it kind of hard. How do I change that about myself?

I have ADHD and I have read that people with the condition are often very emotionally intense and are often hot-tempered and irritable. I sometimes feel like a monster, because at times I lose my temper easily. I also am trying to become a more tolerant person, but whenever I get annoyed with certain people, it becomes really hard.
