For others with ADHD: Do you ever have trouble controlling your temper or tolerating annoying people?

I have ADHD and I have read that people with the condition are often very emotionally intense and are often hot-tempered and irritable. I sometimes feel like a monster, because at times I lose my temper easily. I also am trying to become a more tolerant person, but whenever I get annoyed with certain people, it becomes really hard.

I do not have ADHD and I feel exactly like that far too often... do you work with mass amounts of people... like the general public? Or maybe you have to commute a lot and have to deal with the general driving public?

Sounds like a symptom of too many b-holes in the world.
I try really hard to practice compassion, but I crumble when confronted with too many jerky people.

ABSOLUTELY !!! I don't lose my temper so much anymore and if I do I blurt out ahead of time that I need to get something off my chest, then let it rip.

The annoyed part seems to still be with me. Idiots thrive and they seem to find me. I tend to avoid people in general but sometimes one slips through the cracks and annoys me and then I must smack them upside the head.

I know exactly your feelings when you say you feel like a monster. I simply retreat to my room with my cats and everything goes better !

You just sound like you have a personality problem. I don't see why this would have anything to do with ADHD. Plus you're really focusing on it too, which people with ADHD aren't supposed to do. You're dwelling it seems.

Anyhow, just work on it, there's no pills to fix a bad attitude, but reflection and self development can do wonders. Also talk to someone about why you get these feelings, talking it out can often help with a lot of frustration.
