I have been feeling so down to the point where I don't know what to do... I have no motivation, I'm think people don't like me, and I just feel sooo depressed. I don't have health insurance, and I wouldn't even know where to look for something low cost. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Its starts with how you think. Start thinking positive and surround your self with things that are good. Laugh, be outside when the sun is out. It is a known fact the sun releases a chemical in the brain to knock out depression. Do things out side, start planting, walk, listen to upbeat music, like gospel when you go jogging. Things such as this will start to get rid of your depression. Dont just sit there feeling sorry for your self.

Go to your local health department. The kind of good first step is to reach out to people here. Online you can establish relationships, not all of them healthy as there are plenty of weirdos that hide behind their computer. They have issues just like you or they wouldn't be so ignorant and mean so ignore those people. The second thing you can do is buy self help books. There are plenty out there and you can go to any bookstore and find them. Then you can just practice going outside and doing anything. If it is no more than taking a walk. You have to break the chain of negativity which is much easier said than done when you are depressed. Something like 40% of Americans are depressed so do not feel alone. The health department will be able to help you with a counselor at a low cost, based on your income. Good luck.

It's difficult to get out of depression on your own. Try to go out where you can be with people, I hope you have some friends. Exercise is good because it raises "feel-good" chemicals in your brain. Maybe you could find some volunteering work, it boosts your spirit if you do something for other people. If you like animals maybe volunteer in an animal shelter.
Go to the library and borrow some self help books.
Try to do things that you enjoy, listen to happy music, dance to it, even if it feels weird. Go for a walk in a nice area. If you like brain teasers there are a lot of websites with them.
Try not to dwell on your feelings. Don't start big projects, try small steps at a time. Small achievements will motivate you to do more. Hope, it will help a little :-) Good luck :-)
And remember that bad moods will pass and better will come :-)
You are not alone! You see how many people care and try to help? Cheer up!

All of the answers provided thus far (with the exception of drinking alcohol) would be very beneficial. Exercising is great for releasing those "feel good" hormones, as is getting outside in the sunlight. Another suggestion I would give would be to talk to your preacher or minister. Sometimes just talking out what's on your mind to someone else can help. If you're not a religious person, talk to a close relative or friend. Even a former teacher can be a great person to go to. (Or even getting a pet! Cats are very soothing and comforting, and will always listen!) If you think it is serious enough that you could need medication, talk to a pharmacist (surely they can't charge you for information). Ask what your options are. Just do not ever give up. Remember, things may be bad now, but they can always get better. It all depends on you. Good luck.

You need to speak to a psychologist. Depression is a disease and it won't get better with time.
There should be many options available to you depending what state you live in. Some states have telephone hot lines, others have free or low cost treatment centers. Just take out your local phone book and go thru it (usually help lines are in the front). You can even try calling your local social service office and ask for advice on where to get treatment that is low cost. You might even want to speak to them about health insurance for yourself (sometimes people who are employed can get free or lo-cost health insurance thru the state).
Whatever you do, DO NOT put this aside. Take care of it ASAP.
Good Luck.

I think rather being depressed u should read the child fiction, novels like Heidi By Johanna Spyree. One thing that "Eleanor Roosevelt" said:that if u do nothing people will criticize ,if u do something u r again criticized so do what u like.I also have mood swings likew this but i say to myself as im created by God like this who other person is todislike me. You stop caring for others bcuz people today mostly think about themselves so plz be thankful for what u have don't take everything to b granted be thankful to God,believi me u will feel high Go Now to god or whatever u believe in.

I know how you feel. I have been feeling the same way, to the point where it is devastating. You should see if you can get free health care in your state, and sometimes there are free clinics where you can get some counseling. It is really important to be able to talk to somebody. It is also good to exercise, it releases endorphins that can relieve depression. Don't drink alcohol. Sometimes it seems like a temporary fix, but makes you more depressed in the end. Good luck. If you want to talk more or ask questions about my experience, e-mail me.

Sorry that you feel depress, i know how you are feeling and I'm depress as well off and on.

I know the funny and uncomable feeling from time to time.
I talk about it to myself or write it down. Due the doctor bill are high at the moment and other people have no clue what so ever. Plus medicine as well is high, and it's differ with everyone.(size, weight and etc.)

Sometime health problem itself is or can be past from family to family. I know because, my mum and older brother have the same thing.

So double check with your family and doctor again. If can like you talk about, there are specially group with problem like these. But will need to ask the doctor or someone to find information in your home area you know.

I saw someone advised you to drink, no don't do that you are likely to end up with more problems. I say go out have some fun shopping park anything that will make you feel better without getting yourself in trouble. I know you said you don't feel motivated. Do what I do when I feel the way you do. Get yourself ready shower dressed, and many time even though I started off feeling bad once I go out I feel better.

Go to a walk in clinic. Yes, you'll have to pay the fee, but you'll get in right away and the doctor can put you on a generic form of anti-depressants which will cost you $4 each time at Walmart.

A huge chunk of the population are on these pills. Please do it before you do something irrational.
