Being that this is listed under the psychology category, I expect seriously thought out answers. However, I won't be surprised if I get several answers from people who think they are clever by giving one-liner answers in an attempt to be funny. Oh yeah, and no quoting the bible either. I'll save you the time it takes to flip to whatever page the verse it is that supposedly asnwers my question right now because I'm not interested. Anyway...

These are my questions: Do you believe that love is real? If so, how can you distinguish it from lust or infatuation? Can one person fall in love with another, reguardless of whether or not the other person loves them back? Do you believe love is instant? What proof do you have to show for your reasoning?

Of course, I didn't ask these questions without first asking them to myself. I firmly believe that love is an ideal. It's nothing more than a word I hear other people use to describe an intense emotional attachment they have for another.

I do not take well to any kind of teasing. I see it as a person trying to scare or upset another person who is in some way vulnerable and at a disadvantage at the monent. Sometimes they lie and tell you that something bad is going to happen to you and make up some facts to back up what they have said. then the victim gets upset and they feel that they are one up and have ovepowered the person and they get some sadistic delight out of it. Does anyone else disagree or see it differently

Seem to have always been molested by their mothers. People like this seem to turn out to be the worst serial killers and rapist.

Could it be because the only source of love in their lifes was evil to them, and that becomes all they know also.

I've been working on this for years. I have done cognitive therapy and arguing with the "inner critic" has gone on for a long time with no results, just more arguing. I have tried new hobbies and activities and spent a couple of years at each (a "fair trial") but still do not have any regard for myself.

Since therapy and self-help books (which are based on cognitive therapy) have done nothing but set me up with eternal self-srgument, I figure there has to be something else. Either the therapy and self-help books are full of crap, and there's some other secret no one will divulge, or else there is nothing that will help and no way to improve my self esteem.

What's the difference between being smart and being intelligent? AN online friend said that he found me intelligent, and I asked him why he felt that way. I'd like to know the difference between being smart and being intelligent. I'd also like to know which you'd prefer to be: smart or intelligent? Thanks for sharing.

(both MZ twins)
so daniel with erica and henrik with nicole...
if both of these couples decide to mate and have babies of the same sex, then will their babies look the same?

I keep having nightmares where I feel, sometimes, intense and powerful pain. I don't wake from it, and I can't seem to keep it from happening most of the time. Just last night I had a dream where I was burned very bad on my hand, and I felt it. It didn't hurt after all the nerves had been damaged though. I was stabbed repeatedly, one going through my underarm and out of my shoulder, I could even feel each fiber of tissue tear as it was pushed in. I was slashed, and cut on my arms and legs, and gored by a knife across the belly. All the while I felt the pain, as real and horrible as it would've really been. I've even had dreams where I've felt even more intense pain than this. I used to wake from such things, and that would be the end of it. However now I have to really struggle to wake from it. I didn't even wake from that one, I simply managed to wiggle my way out of it.

From extensive exposure and research into Alcoholic Anonymous, I have discovered that their are serious underlying psychiatric disorders in most of its members. It is not until they address these pre-existing disorders that they will achieve any lasting relief from self-inflicted pain and suffering. Those 'ol timers" with many years of AA attendence, tout and brag about years of sobriety, are extremely difficult to interact with on a healthy social level. They are spineless and weak! They have an aversion of self-discipline and are indeed powerless AND dangerous. They are the disease! If I had a choice to become an AAer or stay a drunk, I would certainly choose the later! For your Holistic health, stay clear of these cultists!
