Written records can't be 100% reliable, and no one is still alive from that time. Just using slavery as an example. It could be any event from the past where no humans are left that were alive from that time. Kind of makes you think.

I am a Latin guy, this girl friend of mi ex told her that she doesn't like spanish people....Can you believe that my ex never step up for me!!!! Another thing, this girl has total control over my ex...that was a non ending fight...
And even when this girl is not the best influence on her and she knows it, she did rather all the time listen to her than me.....

Please list ANY sources (fiction, nonfiction, film, music, etc.) you know that discuss Memory and Imagination or that use it as a recurrent theme throughout its work.

A good example would be "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

In the case of science, for example, is it possible to actively imagine the distance between the nucleus of an atom and one of its valence electrons or the distance between a galaxy’s star and one of its planets, or must we use a “metaphoric” model in order to cognize these ideas? Feel free to elaborate with examples that you feel are pertinent or relevant to the question.

“Atoms, according to Lucretius, are conceivable, but they are no more imaginable than they are perceptible. If we need images to think of them, we must use imagery in a metaphorical way, picturing the atom as the smallest particle imaginable—only more so! To the objection that there must be imageless thought if we can think of incorporeal beings, if which there can be no images or phantasms, Aquinas replies that we do so ‘by comparison with sensible bodies of which there are phantasms.’”

Please list ANY sources (fiction, nonfiction, film, music, etc.) you know that discuss Memory and Imagination. Thank you!

Is learning the recollection of memories that are already present in the soul, or is learning the acquisition of the new, provided that the soul has possession of no previous knowledge?

“This is Plato’s doctrine of reminiscence, in which all learning is a kind of remembering of knowledge already present in the soul. All teaching takes the form of helping the learner to recollect things he may not be aware he knows, by reminding him through a process of questioning which awakens the knowledge already latent in him.”

Is imagination limited to the rearrangement of previous experiences and perceptions, or is it possible for creativity to fashion a completely innovative idea that has never existed before?

“Yet even when imagination outruns perception, it draws upon experience for the materials it uses in its constructions. It is possible to imagine a golden mountain or a purple cow, though no such object has ever presented itself to perception. But, as Hume suggests, the possibility of combining a familiar color and a familiar shape depends upon the availability of the separate images to be combined…. A congenitally color-blind man who lived entirely in a world of grays would not be able to imagine a golden mountain or a purple cow, though he might be able to imagine things as unreal as these.”

Please list ANY sources (fiction, nonfiction, film, music, etc.) you know that discuss Memory and Imagination or that use it as a recurrent theme throughout its work. Thank you!
