Same reasons that drive people to get married, I guess... it's the next step ~~> building a family/ life together. Basically to complete their lives... further.
This is more of a common practise among Asians more than those in the West.
Raising is not so much a satisfaction but more that they feel their lives are fulfilled & enriched with the presence of kids.
To pass on the torch onto their kids, to hand over or to keep the family name onto their kids.

I love children. Ever since I was young I knew I wanted kids, to have them, raise them , love them and take care of them. It's a selfish reason I guess because I have so much love and am very nurturing, the natural thing is to have a family and nurture and that's what I do. For my husband they are just cute, and brighten his life with their amazing personalities.
Everyday, I am amazed at their existence and that we actually made them.

Satasfaction of knowing that even after you dye, part of you will still live on through future generations. Teaching them your morals, values and beliefs. In order to make the world a better place. Helping make someone elses life, what you always wanted yours to be.

I had children because my husband and I loved each other and we wanted to bring another life into this world. We are very proud of our children and someday hope to have grandchildren. It is the natural part of life for many people. My life is full filled with three great kids and a husband I love dearly.....ahhhhh life is good!!

We have kids b/c we love kids, and we wanted our shot at creating the perfect little person. I personally have a strong natural maternal urge, and simply have always wanted to have kids. Also, It's just really amazing to have a part of yourself always running around next to you!

In survival terms, so that the human race will still be here in the coming generations.
As for me, I just love kids. It takes my breath away just looking at the quirky things they do. I can't wait to have them. My course is even related to having them - I love them that much. ^_^

I love my son, I did not have an ulterior motive for having him. My husband and I made a life from the love we share, and we get to show him the world!

How about...meeting standard societal expectations! The real question would be to ask why some 'non-conformists' don't have kids (like myself and my hubby).
