Thought this was a pretty good question. It was in my text book. They go on to discuss persons such as Einstein and Van Gogh, who were considered "eccentric", but contributed greatly to society. I never thought about that before. I think, every case is different, and it all depends on the situation. Also, I wouldn't consider the eccentric nature's of Van Gogh and Einstein to be severe psychological problems...although I should probably do my research before saying that. lol

I have an oppurtunity to make a lot of cash if I study hard for a year or two and enter my brothers business. With the benefit of his client base, I could make a lot of money after 5 years time. I haven't jumped at the oppurtunity after a month or two and my disinterest is bothering me. I tend to think small as in I'm not money-hungry and I haven't set many goals for myself. Has this conditioned me to not jump at this oppurtunity or should I just look for another route, until I find something I will jump at?

Does anyone believe in signs or angels? My mum had a brother that died a LONG time ago and my little cousin asked my uncle if he ever had a brother that died. She was very specific about it being a brother. Do you think my dead uncle is trying to get in contact with us? My cousin is only 8 and would not have been told anything about my dead uncle. I dont believe in ghosts but it is very strange

Personality Questions and Interpretations--please answer?
Do you ever feel insulted when someone you do not know or ever been introduced to uses your name? Do you ever feel personally tortured when someone asks you intrusive question: what kind of work do you do, where did you go to school...? Do you ever have to pull away from people becuase you feel they are trying to get too emotionally personal too quick: what's wrong, you can call me anytime with your problems...? Do you ever feel personally insulted and hurt when someone tries to classify you a certain way: oh you must be this type of person?

Do you know people who never do any of the above? Would there be something wrong with me if I answer "yes" to all of the above?

In my child development course, our Professor showed us a video about a little girl...I believe in the 60's or 70's, and they called her a wild child I think. This was about four years ago so I don't remember much. I know she was abused from birth, and her parents had her chained to a chair or something. When they found her she didn't know how to talk, or do much else. I was just wondering does anyone remember seeing this? What was the little girl's name? Also, does anyone know if she is still living, and what became of her later development? I know the prognosis wasn't very good.

why are " queer family relationships" such an important element in daytime talk TV?
Why for example, do straight people tune in to talk shows about queer families?
What role does the mythical nuclear family play in daytime TV?

is there a biological basis or is it learned behavior?
Is is linked to OCD. I have several family members who won't throw anything out (junk mail, newspapers, etc.) and it just piles up and it all over their house...plus I have heard of people who hoard animals too...is there medication or some kind of therapy they can take for it (if they were so inclined) or is it 'not a big deal' as I have been told
