12 years ago I bought a good quality red shirt after many washes it is now pink. I havn't changed apart, from the age. The shirt is still good quality and comfortable but not worth buying a dye to please somebody else.

Because they look good. Men have been wearing non-purple and pink shirts for decades of homo-phobic years, assuming that if one was to wear pink or purple they could possibly be finding a football match arousing. The trend now isn't to be so gay you're straight, or to show off how masculine you are, but it's two colours that look good and taht haven't really been "done" before. Noone wants to look like their father, or at least dress like their father, so men are looking for something different. And now they've found it.

Why, don't you think the pink brings out the colour in my eyes?

They wear them because that is what they're sold. They buy it because they will buy anything that is being sold. It's sad I know. I have a major problem with it. I asked my step dad why he chose to wear a pink shirt when last year he didn't wear one. He said of course that he liked it. Well, he didn't like it last year? It is a feminine color. We all know this. If you like to wear feminine colors and say that it doesn't make you look gay, then why would you not wear butterflies on your shirt. I have a baby girl and almost everything that is sold is pink and purple because SHE is a little GIRL. Those are feminine colors. If it weren't the "in" thing to wear, men wouldn't wear them. Their fashion sense in being dictated by gay men and women and they are buying it hook, line and sinker. How delightfully absurd it all is to be sure.

Why do men wear purple or pink shirts? Hmmm, I guess because they can, they like the color, they look good in those colors. They are real men. They are secure within themselves and it is ok. They wives or girlfriends like the colors. I guess the real question is why not! Those colors are now in style for men, I think they look pretty good on most men.

For the same reason they wear grey, black, blue, green, etc.
For the same reason women wear, brown, black, beige, etc.
Because this is America and they are free to do what they want.
My son was on a pink kick at the age of 17. He said it takes a real man to wear pink, I said, "it takes a real man to wear pink and stay out of trouble." And the reason I said that was because of comments like the "closet gay" one.

simple for years pink and purple and any light colours have been associated with Gays, now with the advent of fashion, and metro sexual awareness these colours no longer carry the gay tags that they used to at least for some.
they are hot and in fashion and it make a man look good , colour isn't strictly for women and children, men can use then to lighten and give life to their wardrobe
