This is a big question! There are so many kinds and causes of stress, and lots of ways to deal with it. Whatever you choose to do, don't let it get the best of you.

Mostly, stress is caused by our inability to overlook the petty stuff. Of course, to us, that stuff isn't so petty. But look closer, and a lot of the stuff you're sweating isn't all that important in real life.

Jobs are probably the number 1 source of stress, and jobs, believe it or not, are a dime a dozen. You can change your entire life if that's what it takes. I did that, and made my life a lot better. I worked for years & years at a job that gave me high blood pressure & other medical problems, but when I quit & move to a different city, I started recovering. I got a different job, live away from the stressful people, and things changed for me.

Of course, a lot of stress is still there because we're human. There are distractions like hobbies, reading, music, television, lots of exercise, etc., and these help some of the time.

Good luck!

One way is experimenting with different calm music-- classical, new age, whatever feels best to you. You can also find some songs that fit your more agitated mood (something fast paced), and start listening to that. Then gradually change styles until you work your way into a peaceful, calm song (slow tempo). This way you can bring yourself down by working your way into it. You might think about creating a CD with a mix of music that starts with fast songs and eventually ends with very calm, slow songs. Then you have it on hand for whenever you may need it and won't have to search for a song selection.

As for a couple song choices:
A very interesting composer is Janalea Hoffman. She writes music to specific speeds to slow the heart rate. (The album Deep Daydreams is a good example) Look on her website at: http://www.rhythmicmedicine.com/music.ht...

George Jamison is another artist that I like as well as some things by Yanni.

Another option is just some classical piano music or harp music, etc.

Listen to some different stuff and see what works best for you!

Music is also effective if used in addition to other relaxation techniques. You may want to search for info on progressive muscle relaxation, autogenic relaxation, etc. Some basic explanations can be found all over the internet. These relaxation techniques will help you greatly in dealing with stress if you take some time each day to do them. It's better to deal with it proactively rather than waiting until lots of stress builds up!!

Everyone copes with stress differently.

You may want to take up sports, working out or a hobby! Anything that helps make you feel relaxed.

Studies show that when you get home from school or work the simple act of putting on your comfy clothes helps to relax you. Put music on you like and dance around.
For others it is quiet. Meditation .. a good book.. or even a nap to wind you down from a stressful day.

The key is to find what works for you.

Good luck!

pray to our good LORD daily, read the bible.
also 1 of the best things to do is listen to some good christian music.
the 1 christian band i'd 110% recommend to you is "HILLSONG"
attend a good christian church as much as possible. be there everytime the doors are opened.
trust me, i used to be a very worried, stressful person. i even would make my self sick to my tummy , all the time. always was depressed, pains in my stomach, always had stomaches, ulcers, gastritus.
but, once i've learned to trust in the lord with all my heart, pray to my good lord daily, allow god to help me & to help take care of my life, problems & situations..... my life was better
then ever b/4.
this is from experience.
take care & god bless u.
in the bible it states: cast all your cares upon him(which is god), for he careth for you.
god will never give u more then u can handle.
it's how we handle our circumstances from the beginning, will determine the outcome.
