(1) It is all about ratings. This is a controversial subject and emotions can run high along with ratings. The better ones rating is, the better chance they have of going far in television.

(2) I have no idea why straight people specifically turn on these particular programs. I think maybe they like talk T.V and watch all they can, so therefore they are watching anytime this type program is on.

(3) Okay, I admit I am not the brightest bulb in the box, but what do you mean by mythical nuclear family? this is a new one on me.

1. Emotionally touchy subject -- and there are many prejudiced/ignorant types out there who want their '5 minutes of fame' so are willing to embarass themselves on TV for that purpose.

2. The mythical nuclear family has no role to play on daytime TV -- none at all. The mythical nuclear family is with the children in school, the parents working, and no time for daytime tv!
