Yes . Some of them are monomaniacal and ask the same question fifty-seven different ways. Some are religiously oriented to the level that they keep trying to convince anyone who is not that they have the truth and the other one is a hell-bound idiot. Some are so wrapped up in hatred that even when an question just says "hello" they interpret it as a slur or as proof of their prejudices (especially if the word hello is misspelled).

Actually if you follow up on all the questions that they ask and the assorted clues that people drop casually into their phrases (like "Is there anyone else here in London just waking up?" or "I am just entering the 7th grade in East Kingston middle school") you would probably have all the info about them you would need to write a really scary best seller about a stalker who meets people through the Internet.

I've been doing this sort of thing for about 25 years now in one form or another, and have learned a few things.

1. Grammer and spelling help you nail down a general age and help predict true gender. I can't point to many 'rules' for this, but I've been right often enough that there must be some pattern there.

(Your question is far too short to try this, however, between your profile and other questions I am seeing one pattern that suggests 18-24, and another that suggest middle age- 35-45ish (sorta like the statement you made that you are 46). I've seen this before in people who work or have lots of contacts with people from the other age group- teachers, etc.)

2. The more sure someone is that they are absolutely right and everyone else is absolutely wrong, the more likely they are to be 17. This seems to be THE age for such assurance. Both younger and older folk seem far less sure of things.

3. Empty questions phrased in a rather nasty or off-color ways are mostly posted by teen-age guys. Girls can get mean, but generally not as off-color or tasteless as teen guys can.

4. Many people cut and paste answers from uncredited sources. This is a form of plagerism and suggests to me that they want the recognition and points without doing any real work. If their goal was helping, they would summarize the article and post a pointer to it.

Sure you can (at least sometimes). Some people hide themselves and post bogus things, but some people are clearly hate-filled and ignorant. Some people spend all of their YA time in particular categories, giving a hint as to their primary interests.

Anyone reading all of my answers would be able to see that I'm a well-educated, articulate, fair-minded, analytical, interesting, dare I say brilliant and overall sweetheart of a person (though they might conclude I'm a bit stuffy and humorless, which I'm not).

I htink if you take a lot of their questions and answers, not just one or two, because someitmes I get very irritated at rude people and say things that are not normally me, but not often. I think you can tell more about someone by their answers and questions than by their looks.

Yes, but it is always a matter of opinion. You can tell what kind of personality a person has, or sometimes you can tell the intelegence level, but then again this is all a matter of opinion.

I do think so, because it shows how they feel about certain issues, their personality ---whether it be sarcastic, optismistic, or any other. I believe that you can understand more about a person through this than you can by judging them by how they look.
