I hear that getting into doctoral programs is a lot easier at private universities than public. At my current university, there is about a 94% rejection rate for all psychology doctoral programs and it is a public university. Would it be a similar situation at other public university or at private universities, such as Capella University or Argosy University?

Men want the "right" to have unprotected, casual sex, then be able to sign away any responsibility. Do women have any such luxury? No. If we become pregnant, we have to make the difficult choice between abortion, or going through with a pregnancy. Why do some insist it won't be "fair" until men can have all the unsafe sex they want, and walk away and never worry about it again, and leave the problem entirely with the woman?

What happens when you wish you could redo something? What happens when you start to regret a decision you made?

I want nothing more than to go back just over a year ago and change every decision I made.

I'm miserable at work. I'm miserable at home. I don't even want to look at my husband anymore, and we've only been married 8 months. I sleep all the time because I don't want to wake up and face another day. I'm too chicken to end my life.

This is not at all what I wanted for my life. So what the **** do I do to make it better? What's wrong with me?

I'm obsessed with my ex-boyfriend, and I understand why. It's because I've never had a male figure in my life to understand me so well the way he did. I had an abusive father and because of it I grew up shy, depressive and antisocial. I now understand me thoroughly. But how do I help myself, I broke up with my boyfriend 3 years ago and I'm still dwelling over him. I didn't treat him well which is why he left me. I feel no one else is going to love me unconditionally the way he did, without judging me. Please how do I give myself counseling?

are really just attempts to have irresponsible casual sex without having to deal with the consequences?

If you don't want to be a father, YOU are responsible for preventing pregnancy. If you took no precautions during sex, you have no right to cry about the consequences later.

You would never even THINK of whining about losing at the poker table, yet casual sex is the same sort of gambling - except there is a potential innocent child in the sex game.
Why do you jump into bed with less thought than you give to whether or not to fold when the bet is $2500?

It seems that some of the work of the feminism of the 60's and 70's was to impress upon everyone how dull, horrible, unfulling, etc., the work of the household is (including childrearing). Supposedly, any bright woman who does these things is "wasting" her intelligence.

But now everyone has realized that the housework still needs to be done. The solution? Get men to do half of it. But why would men voulenteer to do something that supposedly is such a waste of time? Wouldn't we have better luck getting men to help with the house if we hadn't just spent years telling everyone what a waste of time it is? I would guess that after claiming that it's not very important, well, they believed us.

OK I'm talking about NON-PETROLEUM products, but despite the falling dollar, non-petroleum import prices fell 0.1% in August and fell 0.2% in September, and for the year ending September rose only 2.0%, less than general inflation.

So considering how everyone keeps saying that the falling dollar will make us "poorer" or "cause inflation" or reduce the amount of Christmas presents I can buy, how come the truth is the opposite and imports are getting cheaper?

Do you believe that the dynamics of two personalities can cause stalking or violence within that relationship where as if that couple never met, neither would have elicited the negative behavior in other people?

I am watching MTV (don't hate, sometimes they're very informative) True Life on stuttering. A couple of young people like myself have these stuttering problems and it's so heartbreaking! I couldn't help but get teary-eyed when I saw a beauty pageant contestant with that problem.

I am a psych major at UCLA and graduating in June and I have NEVER heard of a condition like this. I admit I do stutter once in a while when I am nervous, but it's just common for most people during nervous situations.

It's really sad that stuttering can be made as a joke sometimes, but people don't understand that it is a condition, not always a once in a while occurrence.

My question is this. Is this something neurological? Maybe some part of the lobe related to speech is damaged? Or is it in the chords? Maybe something in the brain that allows you to think of what you're going to say, but it doesn't come out right?

I just want to give these people a hug! I feel so motivated to do something about it.

Since a country's GDP is the total market value of its output (consumption/0investment/government spending/net balance of trade) measured in US dollars. Lets use the Canadian dollar as the example; the Canadian dollar has gained 40% on the US dollar over 4 years, a whole 10% in the past three weeks (from 1 USD-1 CAD to 1.1 USD-1 CAD today). If the Canadian GDP were to be converted to dollar, wouldn't this "raise" their GDP by 10% artificially. Obviously, GDP does not work this way, how is currency exchange rate adjusted? How is it dealt with?
