Her comedy seems to be geared toward anything that would or could offend. On a recent episode of her television show she joked about abortions saying that the last time she had one she kinda felt like it would not be the last time. She even picked up an abortion machine (whatever you call those things) and referred to it as "old friend".

Looking at her comedy objectively, I can see how she picks on some of the worst stereotypes on both sides of the issue. It does not seem clear what her stance is either, only that she knows it's a touchy subject and wants to push peoples buttons by appearing to make light of the topic.

Generally speaking I am attracted to extreme and very adult humor. But I can also understand why many people may prefer not to view such material. Part of me thinks that Sara Silverman is just using this type of shock humor to get people to pay attention to her. I am also willing to consider the possibility that she likes to explore social taboos.

Your thoughts?

Although it's never *exactly* the same, I do have two plots that keep recurring in my dreams, and I want them to stop! In one, I'm back in high school (I'm 24 now) and I have to ride the bus home, but I don't know which bus to get on. I am always frantically trying to find out which bus is the right one, and scared that I won't get home. I have dreams like this at least once a month, and it's annoying.

I've also had several dreams that I'm at the beach when a tsunami hits, and I'm scared about whether my kids were killed. (I've always found them so far.) The tsunamis always come out of nowhere, without the "drawing back of the water" that happens in real life. These dreams are pretty much nightmares, instead of mere annoyances.

So is there a way to stop recurring dream plots? These dreams do bother me a lot (yes, even the bus one) and I'm looking for a way to stop them.

Do you feel it's necessary to seek therapy about something traumatizing that happened to you as a child, that you never got help for, when you're an adult? Even if you feel you're over it? Could it be unknowingly still affecting me today?

* Disclaimer: I know it's just a song
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/nelson-willie/mammas-dont-let-your-babies-grow-up-to-be-cowboys-2513.html

Since the character in the song is refering to males growing up to be "cowboys' and all the negative aspects of that life style, but it seems that it is more the boys father that is responsible for molding the boy into a responsible man and giving him a blue print to what a man is supposed to be. If the father is not in the childs life then the song might be more accurate but I think that as it is the song does no justice to fathers and shifts responsibility of one's children to the mother thus feeding the negative image that father's have in society.
Agree?

Last night I had this dream and I've got really scared. I was traveling by car in many cities/countries. That's not so scary. But the weird thing is that my left arm was mutilated. My left palm was amputated down but the wound was open & I could see what was inside. I think this is the first dark/horror dream I ever had. I want serious people to answer to my question.

I'm 18 and at the moment i'm in a very awkward position that mentally thinks i'm unable to talk to people and live ab-normal. In school i had the best looking girlfriends, so i guess i'm not ugly, i currently stay at home and part of the time i usually go on online games and use my headset to talk to people which i think boosts social skills.

Another problem is a letter thats worth £3,000 that i have to get an official witness like a dentist to sign. A simple task like this has an effect that says "oh no interacting with strangers" and go into alert mode. But half of me wants me to go there ask for the guy that has to sign it, post it, wait 2 weeks then i got some cash to help with driving lessons and buy things i really want.

Next week i have my first job seekers meeting that a guy should help me find an ideal job that will start me earning and prove my mum i'm not lazy. (she doesnt understand my social issues)

I feel like I've been lying to myself for quite awhile and it's become a second nature coping mechanism. I've enmeshed myself into a life that I feel like I can't escape without hurting people that I love. I'm not a drug user, just apathetic and depressed. I feel life ebbing away.

I guess this is just another way of asking can money make you happy? Which leads to another question. Can a lack of money make you unhappy or sad?

I'm not saying that I believe that money can buy happiness. However, I do believe that money is a necessity in the U.S. and the more that you have the more you are able to enjoy and experience.

As an american who has been in the work force since early 90's I can honestly say that the vast majority of stresses that I have experienced have been related to finances.

I am interested in what other's think.

The sex practice of dominance and submission...Is this sexual deviance that stems from emotional problems? I wonder if something inside me is "broken" and needs to be fixed.

Or is this just a personality preference?
