do people who are obese realise how fat they really are?
i was talking to this man the other day and we had a conversation on keeping fit he told me he used to be in the army and his training had kept with him after he left the army and thats why he's in such good shape now
but i couldn't beleive what he was saying because he was absolutely massive, i mean at least 25 stone,do you think he realised how big he truely was or has he fooled himself into thinking he is still fit and if so have other people done the same

Well for men I think perception is different. I guess being big is a bonus (sad for women....boo hoo).

I have found men to think they way much less, while women always think they weigh more. So really it is based on gender in my opinion.

personaly I knew I was overweight but didnt have any idea how fat I was untill last year. I went for a routine doc's appointment and found out I was nearly fifteen stone!!! it was a shock as, and its hard to discribe, I dont have a visual or mental idea of how I look, I just feel the same. By god I got a shock!!! I got a new job which is much more physical and my diet has got smaller but apart from that I didnt delibrately diet or try to loose weight.
a year on Ive just hit twelve and a half stone and smile when I get on the scales. I am getting into size 14's ( a big change from mens xxl clothes) however I still dont feel different. In fact I am shocked when i hold my 14's up and see how small they are.
Maybe the bloke was like me

they do seem self-deluded, i've come across the same sort of people on here & on my travels.
it's generally ignored because the obese really do believe;
there's always some one fatter than them.
it's the fat gene/hormone & therefore not their fault.
they're big-boned.
it's not really that bad if they all stick together & carry-on abusing their bodies.
a safety in numbers, sort of thing.

& all the thin people should sympathise with them, the food forced it's self on them.
i admit i do feel sorry for some that i meet but most just make me laugh with their childish enthusiasm waiting for the magic pill that requires no willpower or effort from them so they can continue the gluttony, that is keeping McDonalds, KFC super-markets & mr kipling in money making the West strong & not afraid to show it's wealth & prosperity.

it's obese are turning into hypocrites & becoming the laughing-stock of the World,
but still they put their heads in the sand.

don't be surprised if this question is deleted.
i've asked similar questions which have been removed for even mentioning obesity.
they report people for speaking the truth.

most big people do painfully know that they are big cause a lot of people like to keep reminding them of it in case they have forgotten... I have been a big person all my life and have tried to lose weight but find it hard for one or another reasons but the man you spoke to may been just trying to make polite conversation with you, and what you think is 25 stone may only be 18.. i dont know i wasnt there. but yep we all do know we are big and big people can still be fit as well.

Let me tell you something,I was reading on a magazine the other day that says that sixty nine percent of men concider themselves physically fit,but only 13 percent actually are,and its true don't you see man every where walking like they're as fit as Arnold schwarzenegger on the past; and look like if they're about to whoop some one, wearing muscle shirts when they know for sure they're just hanging.

I think most realise how fat they are and it really hurts. Some then eat because they are feeling so low. It's sad.

A person can be fat in appearance but be "in shape"----for example, a friend of mine who outweighs me by 100lbs can run much longer than I can without losing their breathe, while I at 130lbs can't keep up.

they don't realise. it's awful to think that some people have never been hungry-while some have never been full.
they don't want to admit it or they will feel bad. so they deny it.
