Social Science - 9 October 2007

I'm trying desperately to help my sister who has just been through a confusing experience with a guy friend. Please tell me what you think of this behaviour to try to make sense of the whole thing:

Over a period of more than one year...this guy did the following

He told her he was falling for her..this was online & he had taken a drink (you could say true feelings can be expressed
after a drink? or you get false courage?)
He called her beautiful sometimes
He contacted her lots
He invited her a few times on trips which she couldnt go on
He told her to hurry up and visit him..he lives in another city

When they met it seemed to go well, they kissed and she didn't sleep with him. he has contacted her since but he is not asking her for another date and she's disappointed. Ok they live in diff. states..so its difficult. They met in school so he knew her anyway in person. Can anyone make sense of this?

I had 3 older brothers who sold drugs who made me do bad things to people that I didn't want to.

I know it was stupid now, and I've left them behind. I still have trouble sleeping though and I just want it to all go away.

i really should go to class but i wake up in the morning and i have like zero willpower to get up
is there anything i can do to stop having those horrible feelings in the morning
i wake up and want to cry cuz i hate the feeling of waking up when my body isn't ready
and its not like i am getting too litlle of sleep cuz i get like 7 or 8 a night atleast
please help!

The documentaries I've seen about Jail, makes it seem like a decent place. You get fed, you get to socialize and you get to spend time reading, writing, playing on the computer.

I don't mean to be coy, but as long as your prison mates like you, isn't it more or less like a social club?

I mean I know it is supposedly 'fair' (the logic isn't really that good to show this anyway).. but if single women hardly ever vote the way I think is sensible and if married women vote the same way as their husbands most of the time anyway, then it is in what I consider the country's best interests that they don't vote right?

So by what reasoning am I to support women voting?

It's about the easticity of demands. The question is if you are chairsperson of a state tax commision responsible for establising a program to raise new revenue through excise taxes. Would elasticity of demand be important to you in determining those products on which excises should be levied?
