well i think you should leave the books and get alife for a little.you may start with a good sleep, reading only for the act of reading can be confusing and too much of anything turns into poison.i don't say you should not read but if you have purpose or smth you are interested in ,not only for the number...and you have possibly misunderstood much of the contend if you are not familiar with the autour style ,his purpose and the time he wrote in.
and at last if you strive for exellence and knowledge reading will not be enough so develop in many ways and directions not just one...good luck;-)

I understand this feeling, most of us have been there at one time or another.
Do you like to read? visit the library or bookstore and read some self help books or the new age section has great uplifting stories.
Perhaps you can find a mentor or counselor type person that can help you sift through your confusion.
Try to take some career counseling classes and tests to see where you heart lies for a career.
Seek out clergy type people if you are religious or wondering about religion.
Don't be afraid to talk to others to help you.
It is okay to be lost, you are just facing a transition in your life.
Good thoughts on finding your path....

Bear it! Feel it!
Stay open! Trust your inner strenght: You are able to handle it.
Being confused is very appropriate in a world full of conflicting images, ideologies, and full of people with fake identities, who have never taken an independant stand in life.
After a some time (maybe after weeks or months) you will find new meaning and purpose and feel invigorated again.
Instead of labeling it as being weak, rudderless or desperate, call it openness, intensity, being on the lookout.
You are on the verge of creating your true meaning, you true identity. But it takes time.
People will offer you fake identification with some teachings or opinions or traditional courses of life. Don't accept them prematurely.
Stay on course. It may take awhile.

Just as "he who hesitates is lost," it is also true that, "he who is lost should hesitate."
Life is for Living. You give it purpose by the way you Live it. Get busy Living and the answers will reveal themselves.
There are many things that the Human collective to which do not know the answers or the questions. Some of the things of which Humans know, they fail to take heed or fail practise the knowledge learned.
Accept that somethings are know for you to know at this time. Be patient. Rest assured that there are more things that you do not know, than you know or will know or can know.
Knowing that you do not know is in and of itself valuable knowledge.
Relax and stop trying to rush it. Let the mystery unfold.

Are you willing to seek the truth? Because there are many voices which will tell you, "This is your purpose..." but not all of them can be true. Jesus said, "I am the way, truth and life." If you are lost, you can ask Him to lead you to the right path. He came here to teach us how to live full lives. He can and will help you with your life. This might sound simple to you, but it is the simple things that change us, so you must hear this. If you are really willing, I can actually share to you my own experience. You can check my profile and look for my contact info there.:)

There is a short story by the great Russian author, Leo Tolstoy, that addresses the question of how ought we to live.
The story is "Where Love is, There God is Also" and it is on the internet at:

It was a powerful help to me.

Make him relax a little and tell him not to worry much about life as it is not in one's hands. It is God who is here to look after us. Just leave your problems to him.
