My Mom used to wear a fragrance called White Linen and everytime I smell it reminds me of her getting ready to go out when I was little.

The smell of cakes or pies being baked remind me of childhood.

Their are certain household cleansers that my parents used to buy and if I smell them now, which is rare because I live overseas, it takes me back to childhood.

Smell is a very potent memory jogger.

I can usually recall instantly certain memories when a smell hits you from nowhere.

Polish usually does it for me. When i was pre-school my mum had a part-time job cleaning in a pub in a morning, and i can clearly recall the smell of the polish and stale atmosphere as soon as i enter anywhere that uses similar polish.

Strange really, but polish reminds me of other places in my past too - maybe a legacy from my early years!

A certain type of rain and certain foods. Then there are the out-of-nowhere smells that just hit the spot but you can't figure out what kind of smell it is.

Bacon. It reminds me of an ad when I was little. I kept on asking my parents what the guy is eating in the ad and they told me it's bacon. Bacon is pretty expensive in the Philippines. XP

Bonfires in Autumn. I remember spending time with my Grandfather, sweeping up the leaves into huge piles - and jumping into them! He must have really loved me for it but its a very happy memory that I will take to the grave I think.
