The sex practice of dominance and submission...Is this sexual deviance that stems from emotional problems? I wonder if something inside me is "broken" and needs to be fixed.

Or is this just a personality preference?

The levels of domination and submission span an entire spectrum from mild sporadic role-playing to absolute and complete adoption of a dominant or submissive role 24/7.

We are all of us broken in some way. How that may determine how deeply into this lifestyle is (and no doubt has been) a topic for a doctoral thesis.

everyone likes to be in control. there are some people who would rather someone else make decisions for them. I personally see no problem with dominance and submission in sexual practice as long as its carried out in a safe and supportive environment. there can of course be abuses of this relationship, but in and of itself, its just a fetish. if you like whips and chains, more power to you! just dont let it become an obsession, and dont let anyone take advantage of you in this situation. stick with people you trust and people who trust you. happy humping!

Thats depends on your past. If there was even verbal abuse or put downs then you need to fix it regardless of anything else.
