I need to write a scenario that would cause a shift in labor supply and demand in the cruise industry.
I need to focus on the following:

1. Why has this shift occurred?
2. In what direction would the shift in labor supply and demand go?
3. What would be its effect on the equilibrium of the labor market?

Here's what happens in Kenya when men aren't around:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6959209.stm

Mr Muite caused laughter when he told parliament that the monkeys had taken to harassing and mocking women in a village.

because women are primarily responsible for the farms, they have borne the brunt of the problem, as they try to guard their crops.

They say the monkeys are more afraid of young men than women and children, and the bolder ones throw stones and chase the women from their farms.

"When we come to chase the monkeys away, we are dressed in trousers and hats, so that we look like men," resident Lucy Njeri told the BBC News website

"But the monkeys can tell the difference and they don't run away from us and point at our breasts. They just ignore us and continue to steal the crops."

When the men aren't there, the monkeys basically dominate the women.

Why do feminists say women don't need men and are independent when this is what happens when men aren't there?

My bf and I broke up over a month ago. I've been thinking about his past and present behavior and it just seems to me that he may have a personality disorder. He has been in trouble with the law (DUI) yet still continues to drink and drive. He has hit me/been aggressive in the past while drinking, but no apology the next day. Gave me no presents for my B-day. Wanted to take me on a trip over xmas, said he had the tickets, then disappeared for a month. Has lied to me and stood me up many many times. I am 8 mos preggo w/ his baby and he would always say "I want you to have our baby" and then we broke up b/c he said he wasn't ready, that we couldn't have it. I told him no and to get out of my life. He e-mails the next day telling me to go f*** myself and that he has a new gf, that sh'e preggo and to forget about him. He hasn't called to check on me or the baby (due in Oct) I'm 34, independent and moving on. I was just thinking about it and wanted to put the question out there.

I know im still young, being 15. But its the older men that scare me. Ive developed this fear since I was 8 because of certain experiences. *not rape though*. Ever since, my heart would beat so fast if a man was walking towards me, especially if I was alone. And sometimes I even cover myself in sweat pants and a sweater just so they wont look at me. I live in an area where guys whistle at young girls down the block, call you out & holla at you. Thats why i refuse to go outside most of the time. Help? I always think that older men are going to hurt me!

My sister has this paranoia, worrying about everyone (family, friends, coworkers, etc) talking behind her back. From what I know, everyone associated with her have really nothing negative to say about her, at least to me.

But one aspect I did notice in my millions of short-talk with her is that she is also protective of people in general (even if she doesn't know them) and doesn't like others who express their opinions of them.

Example: We talk about the 007 movie "Casino Royale" on DVD and I felt the director's work was subpar. She shouts back: "HOW DARE YOU TALK BEHIND HIS BACK!" My reply is: Huh?

In a way, she despises critics in general and feels they talk behind people's backs.

Is she losing her mind? I know for sure she has anger management problems in recent years which also doesn't help. I'm surprised so far that didn't lose friends over talking about, really nothing issues (like the above example).

Is there even a medical/psychological term for this?

you are a bystander. you watch a train, headed straight for a crowd of 20 people. You hold a button. If you do not push the button, the train will hit and kill all 20 innocent bystanders. If you push the button the train will change tracks, in which case it will only hit a single person and kill them. You only have these two options.
1) what do you do?
2) what if the single person was a known mass murderer? would this change your decision?
3) what if the single person was your mother?

My mom has made some bad choices in her life, 2 divorces etc. and the third one is a doozy because he wants to isolate her from her family and tried to isolate her from my brother and I who were 12 and 19. Then started a war with her brothers and sisters to further do this. She has this major hang up with anyone giving her advice even if its good advice or with good intent. She claims this is why she hates her brothers and sisters because they gave her advice growing up and she is sick of it. She tells me all the time how she is an adult and no one is going to tell her what to do. The sad part is if she had listen to them she may not have made such bad choices. I know this and this irritates me to no end when she says this statement that I see as ignorant and immature. She is 52. Why is she so offended by people offering advice, anyone! Please help. This is eating away at me.

Where do you go for intelligent-conversation? As in, who do you talk-to about things with depth and meaning? Life, soceity ect. Question that will never have answers, but you like to ask anyway? Really over-thinking, some might say "annoying" questions. Have U found a place like that? Are you lookin'? I've tried Yahoo but . . . its pretty hard! I mean I get great answers and all. . . but still. I'm usually left to ponder my thoughts on my own. It can drive me crazy sometimes. Comes with being an introvert I guess. THOUGHTS?

Are there any weird habits or routines that any of you have?

With me for example, I always like to have something in my hand to fiddle with like a phone, pen, or coin, etc. I'm tapping a pen off the keyboard as I type this question.

So what about all of you, what makes you weird or quirky?
