(and you can't cut this person out of your life, because they're family)

Some things you just have to let go because they don't know any better. I know it's hard, but after a while it will become easier, don't worry :) Remember that that person loves you very much (You said they were family so it's pretty much a given) and you don't have to have the closest bond ever to be able to forgive them without them knowing it. Give it time.

Hmm...I have been trying to figure this one out for the past year. I think you have to understand the realm of how bad the betrayal was. I think it should matter to you as to why it effects you so much. If the betrayal was pretty bad, then keep your distance from this person. If this person is not apologetic, or is in denial as to how it could effect you, then that is probably because that person is embarrased or ashamed. I have gone through something simliar and he will not even speak to me now, and he betrayed me. It is not up to you to make them see what they did was wrong. They have to see it for themselves, and hopefully one day they will.

God Bless

A person needs more info--to evaluate if you have over-blown this whole relationship incident. OR, if you're right on!!! And--one CAN cut a family member out of our lives if they are damaging to us!! That may mean that we have to forgo the rest of the entire familiy as well, but each individual HAS the RIGHT and NECESSITY to take care of themselves!!!

I'm afraid that only time will gradually ease the feeling of betrayal and the thought that what goes around comes around.
