I have looked this up basically anywhere I can. And I have been unable to find answers. I dream, every night. From basic things such as what I am going to buy when shopping to other very minor things. And than there are THE dreams, death, pain, problems and other things that I dont really want to talk about. But they all come true. Wether a week from now, yesterday or tomorrow. I want them to stop but i am not sure what to do, If medication would help, or something. Anything. Or maybe just talking to someone who has the same situation? I dont know. Any help or ideas are appreciated

I've always see in movies, when people get hypnotized. Is it true that you can hypnotize someone? How? And also, does it actually work like in a movie, like you can command them to do something, like a robot? Can you actually do it with a watch?

i asked this question a few hours ago, but i want more opinions.

quedtion: should i stop putting other people's happiness before my own?

additional details: i know that because i do this, i am extremely unhappy and have little to no confidence. i want to start putting my happiness first most of the time, but, first of all, how do i start? and second, how do i do it without becoming completely selfish?

I saw a question where an individual asked, are you more introverted or extroverted? Many that replied introverted accompanied their answer with "unfortunately" or "but I'm working on it"

I was surprised because I consider myself to be quite introverted and happy/satisfied. Also, according to Maslow, self-actualized people require a lot of "me time" and often prefer to spend free time alone.

Just wondering..is introversion considered negative compared to extroversion? What do you think?

Thanks!!

My friend is driving me crazy with this, twisted, emo psychological disorder. Since I can't solve this myself, I've turned to the outside world.

Diagnosis (My Point of View):

-Aggressively follows the 'emo' stereotype
-Craves attention, but pushes it away
-Repeatedly whines about nothing, or little meaningless things
-Gets mad when there is nothing to complain about
-Self-destructive, for attention-getting purposes
-Fabricates a worse past than she had, so others will be more sympathetic.
-Does morbid things, possibly for attention.

Someone please tell me what I can do to fix this? All answers welcome.

Hi .. I am 36 and single going to be 37 on june 17 th ( having bit of birthday blues ) .....i never married because i never found the right woman and now i am bit set in my ways to contemplate marriage ... i am in a reasonably dead end job ..... in the accepted meaning of the term i am a failure . ... but i have kicked alcoholism 8 years back after a 6 year affair with the bottle .. i have overcome dire poverty to have an existence and have changed from being a wimp to having a rather pleasant personality ..... am i being too harsh on myself just because i do not have a wife and mandatory two and half kids and a dog ... and have not yet been able to accumulate assets like house , or started saving for retirement .......
does anyone know a good motivation , self help website ?
i believe like Rocky ... " it is not how hard you get hit and stand up which matters .. but how hard you can get hit and keep moving ..... " is that a good mantra to have ?

I recently graduated from high school and I did not feel any happiness connected to it, I was just like okay I graduated. I have this belief (and maybe it is partly true) that people around my age have too high standards for themselves these days and that we will never actually get to where we want to be. That is how I feel about myself except I don't know what I want to be so I feel like I will achieve...nothing. I don't have any abilities to become anything so it's like I'm wasting my time. When I think of the people congradulating others on graduation it makes me sad almost because I'm thinking okay we graduate but will we actually achieve anything? It's like all this happiness for nothing. I feel this way about myself but I don't know why. Granted there are ambitious people who have what it takes for certain paths, but not me. For some reason, I've been feeling worthless and not up to doing anything, and I pace all the time. Is this just normal?

i mean something that affects you psychologicaly. like a horrible event in your life and loved one dying etc.

i for one feel nothing. its not that i dont care either. but when i here something that has happend i dont feel anything at all. it realy doesnt begin to sink in until weeks later and it affects me subconciously. like random and sudden sadness about nothing in particular or lonliness. and its also not that i try to ignore it. i wish i could deal with it but when i search for it and try to bring up some emotion i draw a blank.

I don't think they understand that it is a life threatening mental illness and has the highest death rate of any mental disorder! So many people think it's caused just by the media and s who want to be thin. That's ridiculous. Does anyone know why people make fun of something they don't even understand?

What are the fundamental differences between Western philosophies and Eastern ways of knowing? How does each culture generally view the world and education? How can you incorporate seemingly different ways of knowing into your curriculum? When responding to your classmates' posts assume the role of a student from an Eastern culture and ask a why question.

They were talking on the radio today about when "women rate other women." Appearance, clothing hem line, etc. etc. I know that I do not "rate" anyone, but the women at my job say they rate all other women they see. Sort of like "sizing up the enemy." Because the woman on the radio saw a woman in a mall wearing short-shorts and high heels. Felt it was wrong. Wanted listener's opinions.

Since I am told that women really worry about what other women look like, can you tell me WHY they care? Especially if the person is a stranger you will probably never see again?
