We had problems with each other in the past, and there was tension, but i had a good conversation with her(i treated her respectfully, asked her how her year was going, restrained my temper in front of her, patted her gently on the back of her seat, and gave her the space she needed when we finished.)Shortly thereafter, she walked by me looking warm peaceful and with a bit of a smile on her face.Is that a good thing? She's also middle-eastern,and aren't they known as backstabbers and untrustworthy? Is she out to one-up me,or was her gesture a good thing?

I don't get it. Alot of women would rather have a man who they are afraid of or either a man who beats on them.

Someone who is on the run from the cops alot.

WHY?

Those which would be most applicable to industrialized nations. I think a couple might be never finishing high school, or having a child before a certain age, but I don't know about others or whether there are detailed statistics.

I have been taking self-defense classes for a while, and of course, groin kicks are taught a lot. I've heard stories of how they haven't worked, and some how they have.

Some of my guy friends say that they are effective, and others say that they won't work if a guy's attacking me and is adrenalized.

I've asked this on yahoo answers once before, but, does anyone know for sure if they'd be effective? Have you used them (or had them used on you, if you're a guy)? Will they incapacitate a guy right away? Or is there a delay, like some people say?

I've also heard that the eyes and throat are more effective targets, but that would require the arms, and I'd think it'd be better to keep someone at leg's length, if you've managed to create distance. (If not, your arms might be bound.)

For psychology class, I am conducting an ethnographic research, interviewing a senior citizen. Although biographic questions are expected, we should focus on the interviwee's reflections of past life events and stages whereby questions are to be more psychological in nature than historical/ biographical. As well, we have to ask the interviewee of how she or he views life at the present and future. The interview should last about 30 minutes and we must audio or video tape for class presentation purposes.

Anyways, I just was wondering if you all can give me a hand. I need help coming up with questions for the interview following the criteria listed above for the questions. Please, please help.

P.S. The questions should be more psychological in nature than historical/ biographical. Thanks. I will give points to whoever has the best collection of questions.

* I'm a Christian, so Christian interpretations are appreciated!*

In part of a dream I had last night I was in a familiar feeling building. I think it was this building my mother used to work in where I practially grew up in.

Anyhow, in this part of the dream, I kept being given lots of individuals tasks after which I received I automatically turned to either go up or down the stairs to get things done. Problem was the stairs were tricky. When I tried to go down, after about the third step, the staircase dissolved into nothing but emptiness. When I looked to go up coming from downstairs, either the stairs were incredibly steep or didnt meet up all the way with the door-- like if an elevator opened half way to a floor.

I did acrobatics on a big plumbing pipe once to swing my self up on the next floor. And another time I had to pull myself up of the short stairs. But it seems like I was continuously getting things done.... The stairs were just bothersome.

I dreamed I was living in a specific home, sharing it with a relative of mine. My Dream: we're having dinner. My relative, myself and someone else-apparently my 'husband'(I'm told in the dream). The three of us eat, joke. I stand to clear away the chinese take-out my 'husband' follows, in the kitchen he asks me for a kiss. I get shy kissing in front of a relative but I do kiss this 'husband' of mine. He is tall, pudgy, in a white undershirt.

I did end up moving into that same house with the same relative as a roommate. I never thought anything of this dream at all. Year ago I met someone though. Then a couple months back it happened. The three of us ate chinese food, in that same room as in the dream, when I left for the kitchen he followed asking me for a kiss,in front of my relative. We kissed though. Everything was as it was in the dream. Same seating arrangement, furniture, same physical likeness. But the man in the dream has a different name.
What do I make of this? Confused.

Have you ever thought of something so much even though you had no control over it? I do this all the time. I wanted to know if you did this as well. If you do, what is it and why?

I play on a travelling softball team, and next weekend, we play this team that we played last summer, and I broke their catcher's leg when I ran into her at home plate. How should I handle when I see their catcher again? I mean, I don't really know her, and I was trying to help my team win...but still. Ya know?

Most kids wanted to be superman or batman growing up. I used to dream I was the kid from "The Omen" Damien. I used to try and make pianos fall from the sky and land on my sisters head. On vacation I would try and cause us to have a car accident when we didnt go to theme park I had hoped. Am I abnormal.

I have am interesting mental predicament. I am not suicidal, all though my mind likes to test me. My irrational mind, often brings up the topic of suicide. I am not one to even go in the direction of something so drastic. I am not even that sad, I just deal with a little anxiety. It feels as if my brain is constantly testing me, by bringing up the idea of suicide, I get confused, for I ask myself “does that mean I am suicidal” and then I start to freak out, and I get a headache, and then I start feeling anxiety. The thought of suicide makes me very un-easy, and the fact that I am writing this, and spending m Saturday night asking this, makes me feel like I’m nuts. But sometimes, my brain cant help but to go to a dark place.I don’t want to hurt myself, I WOULD not do that. I am scared by these thoughts, and would rather not have them. They come up as a test, and how I deal with it. I cant help but indulge because its such a serious topic!

Any input, or anything to help me understand the irrational part of my mind. My thoughts contradict my soul and my heart. My soul and heart would never do such a thing, I love life to much. But my brain wants to come in and bother that, and test me.

Oy, headache!

I was reading in my psychology book today about how people are very defensive about their self-concept (the way they seem themselves). People will often ignore or deny things that they have done so that they don't lower their self-concept. But, my book doesnt explain how one can come to realize that they need to face reality. But how can one do that without feeling terrible about themselves? Must they always have some sort of guilt inside for what they did? Is there a way that someone can face a bad experience/decision without feeling shame?
