I play on a travelling softball team, and next weekend, we play this team that we played last summer, and I broke their catcher's leg when I ran into her at home plate. How should I handle when I see their catcher again? I mean, I don't really know her, and I was trying to help my team win...but still. Ya know?

Taking someone out on a slide at home plate is part of the game. Playing sport is about enjoyment and winning. Some people are just more hungry to win which sometimes makes them a more dangerous opponent. Anyone knows playing a sport can sometimes involve injuries. A good coach will teach techniques of game play to avoid such incidents occuring.
If you feel bad about what you did, appologies and get on with it. Im pretty sure if it bothered her too much, she wont be at the game waiting for round 2. On the other hand she may want to return the favor so be ready.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, since it was an accident that occurred while the game was being played. I wasn't like it was some thing that you meant to do to her. I'm sure that when it happened she knew that it was just an accident and that you didn't mean for it to happen.
If she were to say some thing about what happened to her. I'd probably just say that you were so sorry that happened to her and that you wished that it hadn't.
If you wanted to you could always go over to her and just say how sorry you are for what had happened to her, let her know that you felt bad for what had happened.
No matter what I'm sure all if forgiven and it's alright.

Go over there when you next see her, give her a warm smile even if it's not reciprocrated, say, "I am truly sorry for that acccident last summer, please forgive me?" I was too afraid to do it then and I have been feeling very bad, can you forgive me?"
If she say no, It's fine you done your part and your conscience is cclen and free . Go on and play the game of your life and come up top for me , OK?
If she is gracious then you have made a friend, Both way you win win !

Address it as soon as you see her,and tell her how hard it was to even talk to her about this ,but that you are truly sad that it even happened . This is all you can do and i know she would appreciate it(and her family)
My son broke a leg at an out of town soccer game and we missed the whole event..The kid did not even come over when we had to throw him in a truck a rush to hospital..

Yeah, I can see where that might feel awkward for you. But just remember it was an accident (wasn't it?). Just say hi to her and ask her how she's doing, then let it go.
I'm assuming you apologized and maybe sent her some flowers or a card last year...

I am probably a bit older than you, but I would be friendly, and also ask her how she was doing in a general way. If she wanted to elaborate on the leg, I'd let her, and if she complained, I would say how sorry I was.

IS NOT ALWAYS EASY
THERE IS ALWAYS THE POSSIBILITY THAT SHE MAY HAVE TAKEN IT PERSONAL??
BUT AT THE OTHER HAND SHE MAYBE NOT!!
MAYBE SHE ALREADY UNDERSTANDS THAT IS JUST A GAME AND IN A GAME YOU DO THINGS TO WINE AND YOU DONT REALLY MEAN WRONG FOR NOBODY!!!!
