I saw a question where an individual asked, are you more introverted or extroverted? Many that replied introverted accompanied their answer with "unfortunately" or "but I'm working on it"

I was surprised because I consider myself to be quite introverted and happy/satisfied. Also, according to Maslow, self-actualized people require a lot of "me time" and often prefer to spend free time alone.

Just wondering..is introversion considered negative compared to extroversion? What do you think?

Thanks!!

Introversion is not negative unless taken to extremes. People can become too self-centered, egocentric. I think people can be too extroverted too, and not be sensitive to people's personal boundaries.

I am an introvert, I can write better than talk at you. I stay to myself or with my wife. I don't fare well in "office politics" as I don't go golfing with the guys on the weekends. As a result, I am not in this little click over here nor am I in that one over there. I just do my job. Everybody promotes their buddy in THEIR little click and I just plow along doing my own thing. I don't hate people per say, but I don't feel comfortable with them either. Many people do think it's not good but I am what I am. I am content.

I think it sometimes is considered a negative, but that doesn't mean it necessarily is. I'm an introvert and quite content with myself. I think it's often the extroverts that have negative qualities - don't you sometimeswish they would just shut up? ;)

I don't think introverted people are more unhappy, or that they're "unfortunate" for being introverted and that it's a flaw to be overcome. However, our culture generally values extroversion higher, so it's very easy to feel like something must be wrong with you if you're introverted.

(Don't let them get to you, introversion rocks!)
