It just isn't worth it! A woman can be a housewife and just wake up one morning and say to herself, "Hmmmm, I think I'll divorce my husband and take 1/2 of everything that he has....not becuase he is abusive or a cheater, but just because I feel like it" And our effed up legal system in this country awards her half a billion dollars.
