I mean, i know people die or get hurt, but in the end, the world is one dumbass short and we experience some population reduction. Isn't that good?

I am an honest person who now knows that I am deeply in love with my wife, I have sort of failed to touch her heart before, would love to be able to make her realise this but someone else has touched her heart and she has been frank with me and not hidden anything and has come out of that (non existent) relation, she was really crazy for the past 3 months for this person, now she is trying her best to be a good wife but is finding hard to give me the love. She appreciates the changes in me and does adore me but something is stopping her from coming close to me. She has also sort of taken back and feels quite lethargic and I can tell that she misses this other person terribly in her mind but how can I help her? I have understood what she felt and even befriended this other gentleman and have spoken to him and he too admits that this is craziness but it is my wife who outwardly agrees but inwardly is grieving for something she can never be happy with.

Not abortion, not feminism, not rape, not parental rights, not racism....but if I suggest we talk about baking brownies or getting spots out of our children's clothes, that might spark a fire of a different nature? You go first....

As of late, I have been reading a lot of fantasy books about magic and such.
I have always had this desire to have this amazing adventure. Life seems boring to me. School, job, retire, die.
I've also always wanted magic powers.
But now my desire for them has increased.
I can't go a day without wishing I was...unique? Had powers no one else had. It seems cool. I'm obsessed. It's come to the point where without it, life seems pointless, and I've considered suicide. Not because I'm miserable, but because I'm bored.

I don't want attention, I know that. I'm a middle child, and I am camera shy, and just plain shy.
I would love to have magical powers, but I don't care if I'm known or not.
I just HATE being normal. I don't understand it.

Are others like this? Is this natural? Is there something wrong with me? I know other people wish they had magical powers, but not like this.

I'm a scientific gal. I'm an atheist and like realistic things.

So why do I believe in and want magic so badly??

For a very long time I have lived almost like a hermit. I haven't seen any of my friends for a very long time due to social anxiety disorder and very low self esteem, as well as body dysmorphic disorder. I am so tired of struggling with this "life" of mine. What advice can you offer that may help me get through this? Any ideas on boosting my self-esteem/etc. so that I can finally have a life again? Thank you so much.

Ever know of anyone who did this? And, WHY? Well, I think I know of someone-but I am not sure. He is my friend's bro......he has friends; he is a very likable person-but a very private one too. He has a facebook and well, he has nothing on it-no info. except his name and hometown and pics. that people have taged him on. And, he hasnt had a girlfriend in a longtime-he's 24. He HAS definitely changed since etnering the military-he goes to a military academy. It seems to me, he's become very introvert; he wasn't the outgoing type-but was liked; know it seems like he is open to friendhsips; but he at the same time keeps a lot to himself-even his close friends have kind of wondered. So, I almost feel like is trying tom communicate withsomeone; but someone he trusts-but in a deeper level-and I feel like I could be it-but it's something I sense; not comfirm. How do I apporach him without offending him? Do you think I could be on to something...and he is trying to say something?

I dated this girl for a year and a half and we eventually broke up because of all the problems we had. Toward the end, she would cry and say all sorts of things to me, and months later I've thought about them with a different mindset and want to see what you think. I remember as things got really bad, I kinda in a sense stopped caring about it. It wasn't that I didn't CARE, it was just I was sorta tired and kinda just let her do whatever, say whatever, etc. One of the things she said to me was, "Chris, you're not dominant anymore! The way we used to work, I would give you my opinion and feelings, and you would always listen and make what YOU felt was the best decision! I had a say because sometimes you'd go with what I wanted, and sometimes you knew you were right- I had a say, but you were the leader in it! You don't do that anymore, you just let me do whatever!" I'm dead serious she said that. I mean, that isn't word for word, but...anyway, do women really want it to be that way?

Ok, I need help gang. In some individuals mind's Barbie is a toy - nothing more. Alternatively, barbie is a social phenomenon that creates unrealistic goals for the "perfect" woman. I am so stuck on 1 last point I can argue for and against Barbie only being a toy. here is what I have so far:

VII.1. Children's play is a major contributor to the process of socialization and that objects children play with demand some internal representation
Vs.
Barbie is a toy doll that allows children to understand the process of socialization and stimulates imagination to grow.

2. Barbie creates unrealistic expectations for young girls by allowing them to believe thin and pretty is the expectation set for women.
Vs.
If Barbie so unhealthy with her shape-then why are there no complaints about Mr. Potato head’s portly protrusion? Can we not blame Mr. Potato head for plastic surgery and being stuck with our own eyes, ears, nose and mouth?

Can anyone help me create a 3rd point?! PLEASE

How could Dr. Spencer Wells ever hope to identify ONE pair of humans to give start to all of us? (see more details on the NatGeo DNA project at www.nationalgeographic/genographic )

This sounds very much like a attempt to "prove" the holly or extraterrestrial start of human civilization, contrary to the Darwin's theory... If they did not mean to diminish Darwin's theory, how can they be able to trace the Pair of Humans.

They may only trace at least a tribe or two, AND THEN they may trace it back to supermonkeys and even dolphins or something in the ocean! Not just ONE pair of humans, especially and if only Dr. Spencer Wells admit that the DNA is THE biological HISTORY code, not a book of revelation.
