you know, you often care about people around you, try to give them advice, it hurts when they make a mistake etc...
and then if a friend accuses you of running/controlling their lives... wheres that boundary between giving advice and caring "too much"? and how do you avoid crossing it?

devices ! I was born in fifties and I know I will get lots of flak but I see the US being destroyed by its own tech. People walk around with the phone and blackberries and just seem to have the rest of the world tuned out . I know they are in communication with someone but its not upclose and personal anymore . Its just not human . We sit and eat fast food and Do the SMS thing ! I cant help think we are deep in the Sheeeeeeeeeet ! My nephew is addicted to his gameboy and even sleeps with it. How are we going to get out of this? The japanese are mostly responsible so whats going on in thier country are they in same condition or do they control thier urges?

I've noticed more and more these days the when you speak to people in management, "counsillors" or even people who call me up from businesses, there is often big silent periods after I have answered a question or query, as if the person is waiting for more information. I find this very rude and quickly terminate the discussion. Is this some technique they are taught ? and if so what is the best way deal with or counter it.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Andy

ok so i am trying to fix and improve the things i dislike about myself, so my question is how do i go about it? i mean i have a list of things i want to change to make me more happy with myself. ex: slow to anger, not get so stressed out, give 100% to whatever i do, stay positive, be nicer to ppl, not let ppl push me around (not physically, you know what i mean), so do i try to fix everything at once? do i only choose 1 or two things and wait a month and then choose something else? i want to know what i should do. plz help.
