To clarify: I'm not necessarily in this situation myself but have been before, and am curious as to how others have dealt with it...

Her name is Tamara, and I had a huge crush on her waay back in my teenage years, when we both worked at the same restaurant. She reminded me of Natassia Kinski, with a keen mind and a worldly disposition that put everyone else at the workplace to shame. Back then, the obstacle was my lack of confidence and esteem (remember, I was a pimply lil' nerd with a cracking voice) while today she and I are a few thousand miles apart and have since settled down with our own spouses. Good news is, we hooked up again after 20 years recently and are enjoying each other as friends. Not a bad compromise. And her hubby's a great guy, too.

I once had a major crush on a guy from work. He was totally hot, very sweet, tons of fun and had awesome taste in music. We hung out at the same nightclubs, so we saw each other socially as well as on the clock.

It was one of those situations where I'd wished I'd met him years earlier, but since I was in a committed relationship at the time, I kept my hands to myself like a good little girl. If I had been single, it probably would've been a disaster anyhow because I was his manager and he was also an ex-boyfriend to another friend/co-worker of mine.

I dealt with it in the only acceptable way... I kept my fantasies to myself until I got bored with the idea (which happens rather quickly when it's all imaginary and one-sided). I haven't seen him in years, but I still consider him a friend.

Kind of...
The thing stopping me.... I need to know they want me as well because when I get married I will live by the words "ask and you shall recieve" Only a good spouse would be able to handle that with out taking advantage of the other.

Yes I had this feeling about a girl. I somehow felt she was one step above me. But still I did woo her and had her approval too. But sadly the union was broken by one of my elderly relatives, who blackmailed the relation. It was pure madness, even today I do not know the intentions or the benefits of their action. Only that I am the looser, and I have a broken heart and a bad wound to heal.

Yea, of course. I'm sure everyone does.
For me, what could have stopping me was actually the internal factor.
Poor self-esteemed, low confidence and etc.
You feel like you are not good enough to be with the person you love.
But if the person doesn't mind you being who you are, does it matter?
